Not sure why there isn't much love for Days Gone collectibles so I thought I'd take a swing at creating Deacon St John. First time painting a head sculpt so a little more practice is needed (it's also printed on an FDM printer so some details are not as strong as they could be) but thought I'd try nonetheless. I'd be curious to see if any company would take a stab at creating him if there was more love, as I doubt it would be that hard to create as it's mainly just civilian clothing - maybe more difficult paired with his bike maybe?

Wow dude this looks totally amazing! IMO, it looks really good for a custom figure and personally it's one of the best I've ever seen. If you don't mind my asking, how long did it take to put it all together? I absolutely loved Days Gone and thought about making my own custom Deacon figure at some point but I have yet to do it. Unfortunately, DG is underrated and with the recent news of a canned sequel, I doubt we'll ever see 3rd party figures.

I was always curious to see Deacon in figure form and you did an awesom job with it man!

Nice custom! Instantly recognizable. Deacon is a cool character but is let down by a somewhat generic design and when the game came out people were kinda full up on zombie games, which is a shame as the game is pretty good too.

Ah thanks, much appreciated. As for timing, not really sure to be honest as it's one of the projects that I had on the sides and dipped into every now and again - but getting the colour right for the hoody took a bit of time, as did sourcing / customising a body that fit the proportions, specific clothing etc. Otherwise, relatively easy to put together.

Cheers bud, yeah still some work to do on the features and clean up of it as I'm not 100% happy - thinking of picking up a resin printer for better head sculpts but the FDM helps with paint practice at least.

Yeah I agree, game can be samey in places but I really enjoyed it to be honest. My collection mainly consists of video game and interesting characters so Deacon was a scratch I wanted to itch for a while as I couldn't really see anything out there in therms of 1/6.

I see! Thanks for the info man. Maybe one day I can build/find a Deacon custom as nice as yours!

This looks fantastic. It's a shame one of the 3rd party outfits that specialise in video game figures like Limtoys haven't produced something like this. Days Gone might not get the level of love the likes of RDR2 or The Witcher get, but I think there would be enough fans to make it viable. If a figure was produced to this level, it would be a no-brainer for me picking one up. Thanks for showing this and keep up the great work.

If you ever do a re-print of the head and are willing to sell a copy, let me know 😉

^^^ This
If you ever decide to sell copies of the headsculpt or custom parts I'd be more that willing to throw money your way lol

Ive been working on mine for a few months now, yours looks awesome, howd you handle his rings btw?

Ha believe it or not they were just made from various tubing I had - with fixed elements on top to simulate the 'face / sovereign bit. They slip over the fingers like normal rings. Looking back at this, mine is definitely rough around the edges so look forward to seeing yours 👍
