It's crazy to me how much better the sculpted version looks (pics from latest Sideshow video). The Artisan looks like a bad wig.

The way the sculpted hair frames the face and casts shadow is just so much nicer imo.

The sculpted hair looks like a pastry. Artisan looks like wig because it is one. It’s bad or good depending on how you style it. Everyone ones will look different, fun 😀

Sculpted looks great, but in this case I prefer the artisan one, it looks better then the dark side expo one for sure, and from this angle I actually see Mark in the portrait. Color me impressed, but hopefully they relax on the dark side Anakin skin tone.

I know this is based on an existing comic but basically a Vader body with a Luke head just looks like something a kid pieced together from what ever broken toys he had laying around his room to me.

It's like far out poetry man!

He likely did come up with it when he was a kid... or at least who he was channeling.

It's simply meant to invoke/parallel Luke's vision of himself.

As others indicate, it's more of a hybrid nod to the covers which were being more blatant literal.
In-story, was a slightly different design.

This is growing on me, always liked the black with green lightsaber. Trying to decide if I should PO or not. Could also look cool with Mando Luke’s hooded cape.

The PotF Expanded U figure actually used a look closer to the interior book art.
With the bandaged arms, which actually somewhat informed the later Kylo Ren's look.
