Fett in the wild...

Just sayin' even tho the party for this fig is long over, finally picked this version up. Was gonna stop at the Mando 2-pack, but - saw a pic of the Gentle Giant helmeted bust and am like, - I really, really like the colors/costume.

Then there's Morrison recently saying he hasn't "gotten a call about an S2" and who knows about the Mando film.

Re budget I gotta pick and choose, and pass on a lot of stuff - but thanks to this being sold out went to PopCultcha who still has this version in stock. Over U.S. retail but not too bad.

Mostly I gotta look ahead to Andor but - IMO in hindsight the Boba show has some good stuff, including the chemistry with Mando. I think my 2-pack and this Boba will be a nice contrast.

I love the Boba figures and screen appearance, etc. doesn’t matter to me.

Well, I was one of those who didn't get the long standing "cult of Boba" and where it came from, had to read about it.

But whatever irritates long standing fans of the character - IMO the re-introduction of him via the Mando show - that end scene in the sunset - the shows did some real good things. Like Boba finding Fennec and why he bothers to save her, the arc of a tough but tired-of-this-*&^% lifestyle, the bro relationship with Mando.

And the Tusken robes to the scarred armor to this version is pretty cool design. Someone thought it through. I haven't sold any figs so what's on the shelf for me has to be characters I like and wanna keep around.

I still stand by the idea of Boba integrating with the Tuskens was a good IDEA.

Boba single handedly mowing down an army of stormtroopers... phenomenal execution. Hunting his armor back. Awesome premise. I'm even okay with him doing right by his word and helping Mando get Grogu.

Boba going after other crime lords rather than being subservient to others for work, cool IDEA.

Boba HAS to age, it simply is inevitable. By transitioning him to a power position, you can extend the life of the character in the present universe. That doesn't mean he can't have some cool old dude action here and there, but it's a premise that works.

Making him a reluctant partner/antithesis of the more noble Din also works and makes Mando less of a derivative and more of a parallel.

A lot of the BOBF show can ultimately be ignored and/or corrected in future appearances. A little fast forward, a little power grab behind the scenes, and he becomes more of a lawful evil version of Greef Karga for the Mando universe.

I think their big error with Boba was the S2 finale, I think Bib scene should have been scrapped, make the season about Boba building allies and becoming respected, with flashbacks with the tuskens showing a parallel with how he bridges divides etc, then they take on bib and usurp the throne, maybe leave room for a final reveal that bib was a pawn of the Pike's or Jabba's cousins and let that set up season 2

For the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy, he sure had his @$$ handed to him enough. Mando was a better embodiment of Fett than Fett was - at least in S1. Boba was just too tempting a cash cow for Disney not to slaughter our sacred cow. I was glad they used TM, but they’d have done well to watch the spaghetti westerns to channel Boba’s inspiration. If Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef had a baby, that would’ve been Boba - not the “like riding a Bantha” guy.

And that is totally my $0.02, which is actually worth a lot less…

There's no saving or correcting BOBF, there's only ignoring it or a complete Disney timeline erasure. (Not happening) Sure there were interesting aspects here and there, but ultimately the show hurt Boba more than helped him. Disney wanted to pump something out with his name on it, but they tripped at the starting line as usual, by hiring the wrong people as showrunners. It's been how many years now, and Disney still thinks all it takes is the Star Wars name to make a hit. They're very wrong and we all suffer for it, the franchise and the fans.

BUT it's still a nice looking fig lol

Well, I disagree; it'd be easy enough to ditch the mods and the other silly stuff, bring back some Tuskens including Rasta Tusken; an uneasy friends hip developing between Vanth and Boba; maybe some of Fennec's rivals coming around for payback; etc.

It's never easy to hold onto a potentially lucrative territory. IMO folks just gotta get past the fact that humans age. Timeline wise they could have recast him, but they didn't, but nothing wrong with a tough old guy who still will take your head off.

My head canon just holds onto the good stuff and ditches the rest. IMO the core arcs are good. The finale of BOBF was insane and a bonus of Mando and Boba fighting back to back. TBH kinda irritated that BOBF and Obi aren't getting second seasons. Since now they know what works, what doesn't.

Anyway, happy I was able to pick him up even at full retail. LOL spent some time debating the repaint vs. this clean version coz $$$$.

BoBF's problems had nothing to do with Temuera or his age. There's a long list of issues, but I don't want to derail the threat and the great figure.
He did the best with what he had and was fighting with the writers behind the scenes on the direction of Boba’s character.

Costume department definitely didn’t let us down though.

Anyone have a disassembly guide for the rifle by chance? Think I'll just hack it up myself cause I can't find anything else out there

LOL since I hadn't been part of the cult of Boba, never thought I'd have bought a Boba fig (2 pack) and then pick up ANOTHER and no regrets here:love, Hot Toys just keeps knocking it out of the park with the SW figs. PopCultcha came through (again) since I didn't feel like dealing with reselllers....

Beautiful fig:rock. Bein' a costume junkie appreciate the pleats, the seams, the stitching, the belt details, the weathering, Heck if you could only have one Boba thinkin' this might be a candidate. U can InArt this and that 😁 but Hot Toys knows their stuff. The flame is a great effect. Yeah, I'd like a head sculpt but I was gonna display with the 2 pack and I only need one unhelmeted Boba. You've gotta have this in hand to appreciate all the tiny detailing. I gotta set him up with Fennec and Mando.

Dunno about the rifle prob. leave as is. Couple of out of the box cell shots:

So badass. Along with Mando it's amazing how a helmeted costume has so much expression. He'd better be showing up to do the bro thing in this Filoni movie.
