I noticed that as well. I was really hoping for a better season. Love me some Futurama. But that last season gets skipped in my rotation. Unfortunately , It was just boring.
Trying way too hard to be topical… on things that were relevant like 3 years ago…
I couldn’t even finish last season. Need to do that first before starting the new one. The show really is at its worst when it’s just some soon-to-be-outdated topical plot and they are really leaning into that for some reason so far.
Yep. Futurama was no stranger to references to current events but now it's just way too on the nose and front facing. It doesn't feel like they're in the future anymore.
They need to go back to what made the show great. Wacky science, goofy aliens, dumb but endearing characters and emotional beats when it counts.

Wow, not one but 2 classic feeling Futurama episodes in a row.
Okay this season has actually been pretty good, a lot more like classic Futurama. Aside from the first episode I've really enjoyed them all so far.
That’s good to hear, I’ll have to jump back in and give this season a go.
