You know for the first time in years since I joined this site and getting in on these sideshow events. I just don't care that much in missing most of these rewards. With all of sideshows ******** changes to how rewards are it just doesn't feel special or anything anymore.

I guess that's the overall consensus. Scrambling for rewards, that expire in 30 days, isn't really a draw for me. I'm sure a lot feel the same way.

I'm only annoyed cause I actually want to PO something. And was hoping to get as much as possible as the item I want to PO is over what I always told myself was the max I'd spend on 1/6 dollies, which I've only broken 2x. I try to stay under $300 and I want the HT Gen Grievous who's $370. It's getting harder to stand by that as prices keep creeping upwards.

Of course the $20 thank you coupon I just got from my last purchase is worthless, as is a delayed coupon I just got as it's for in stock only.
And I had $2 just expire and I have like $18 more expiring this month between the 20th and 30th. So if I decide to wait longer I'll basically lose almost everything I just got from spook... :slap

I have some RP's hitting the 10th that will bring me just over $70, so it'll put Grievous just under my $300 limit I try to stick firm to. But another $20 - $30 would've been nice to cover the shipping.

Seems like @Wor-Gar and I walked away with the least codes.

I got a dismal $11 total during Spook 2024, if you include the $5 for registering and if they actually send me the two $1 codes they said they would. A far cry from some previous Spooks, where I got $51 (2023), $34.80 (2022), or $76 (2020).

Like others have said in here, they're making it harder and harder to get the codes and they added very short expiration dates for them, so I just couldn't bring myself to really hunt for them this year.

On another note, I noticed that Comic-Concept’s shipping charges with UPS Ground came up to around $50 less than SSC’s for a heavier statue. Both are in CA as well 🤔. Going to have to contact SSC to see what’s going on (don’t want to waste my points unnecessarily due to shipping).

Sideshow has been using high-priced shipping charges to subsidize their figure prices for a very long time.

Yeah. Like BBTS who upcharges most HT figures by $15 over to cover their flat $4 shipping.

So not worth buying from them unless you buy a lot and use their pile of loot. But your overpaying on almost everything.

Isn't Comic Concepts located in Georgia? I've purchased a couple of figures from them and I could have sworn the shipments originated there. But in the FAQ on their site it says they only charge sales tax for Georgia and California customers so IDK, maybe they have a warehouses in both states?

I got a grand total of $6 during Spook (including $5 for registration), then had $2 expire last week. That's on top of another $10 that expired earlier in October, so I did great.... :gah:

Congrats to those who were able to get something from Spook though this year. Like some others said, it just wasn't fun, and I couldn't be bothered to check for codes that hit their usage limit so quickly (I remember when the short-expiration codes were annoying, and even that would be a huge step up from this year).

I have another $50 in rewards that expires before the end of the year, so now I need to figure out how to use it before it all goes away (and then hopefully be done with Sideshow, save for the occasional exclusive).

@BlueTrooper do you know how much money was given out in rewards for Spook?
I didn't keep a running total, but based on what I managed to collect and what I know I missed, the total is $123.50 for all the codes, not counting registration or lotteries. I believe there was a total of $9 from the various lotteries (don't think I missed any), so potentially $137.50 if you add up everything. Plus an unknown amount from BBB for his question during the after party stream.

Probably the last time I'll participate. It's not enjoyable and I'm too old to last so many days on minimal sleep. I slogged it out to boost my remaining points for a figure I want to pre-order, but with all these short term rewards, it's not worth the effort anymore.

PS. I just remembered, I received a single use $2 code via email from the fortune teller. So the total of the regular codes should be $121.50, rather than $123.50.
