All of a sudden, here he is: my
G1 MARVEL TF UK DEATH'S DEATH made from Hasbro Pulse Marvel Comics Death's Head.
For the making of, you can kinda scroll up and see a step by step process and without letting my balls hang out too much, I have to say that this was as easy as I thought it was going to be.
He's not perfect, but since an official figure will be a long way down the road, if ever, in the possibility department, I made him, I am happy, he's mine and here to stay. Finally got a figure of my favorite character other than Marvel TF UK Galvatron (lurn up kids, big difference to cartoon Galvs).
Things you might want to know:
Articulation:
- is almost completely unhindered.
- yes, I decided to fully paint the hands, cause how much do we use that articulation anyway?
- Hip rotation works, same level of hindrence due to loin guard than before.
- App crunch is functional, but of course hindered by the armor and yes: the circular vent sinks in with it.
- Knees work 100%, same as the, and this is where I am very proud, rotation above the "boots", rocker, everything. Nothing about the legs is hindered in any way!
I need to watch out though, as the Cospaint concoction I used to paint him with is slightly tacky and that DID (past tense) tend to peel paint off the back end of the feet, but, due to some graphit I still had from my engineering apprenticeship, that seems to be a thing of the past. I'll keep you posted.
Accessories:
- blaster rifle is still missing, got a rough prototype, but that needs finishing. Gonna give myself a nice break now though.
- All accessories still fit on his shield, which was repainted and has an additional clamp for his arm blaster, which also holds one of his hands.
Attachments:
- the cap needed to be OVER his armor so I had to do new "pegs", from styrene pipe, covered with those brown plates you see. Decided on this, as it complimented the established look. Speaking of established look: had to re-do the peg for his arm blaster, as that was unstable. Found a sprew lying around, attached that and it fits perfect in his wrist and the port on his shield and painted in similar style to the rest.
And finally: shield also pegs in securely, no problemo.
I hope you guys enjoyed the ride, thanks for all the positive comments and I'll be back with the blaster rifle.
