If you need realistic Villains then it does seem like mr. Freeze would be out. Yeah you could make him a guy who keeps his victims in a freezer, and you can have clayface as a master of disguise, but at that point what's the point?
Guys who are just nuts or psychos like Scarecrow, Professor pyg, black mask, Firefly, two face, zsasz, calendar man, mad hatter, even king tut could work more easily. You could have a guy with a skin condition and make him killer Croc. Bane is possible.

I long for the day of a movie similar to the Arkham video game universe.
I’m hoping that’s more what the DCU will give us with Batman.

Fantastic news (if true) regarding joker series and build up to the third film.
I’ll put money on it being court of owls for number 2.
Although I did see rumour/fancasting of Boyd Holbrook as Harvey Dent, which would be incredible.

Poison ivy could work. I’m tired of them trying to make her a misunderstood hero now that she is gay for Harley . She needs to be a crazy evil eco terrorist who experiments on children again and leads men to there doom.

Hell these would’ve even made great looking Star Wars characters just replace the weapons with lightsabers or blasters.

I think this would have been a better place to start for the first movie. It even fits aesthetically with his Batmobile in that film. He then could have added the cape and other fantastical/symbolic design elements (plus a new car) as his reputation and mystique grew.
Id be incredibly disappointed if we never get to see some of Batman's most iconic villains In Reeves' trilogy/universe because they need to keep everything ultra grounded. Reeves has one of the most unique and immersive renditions of Batman at his finger tips, why do we want to waste that on more mafia ****? We already got one movie and now an entire show around it, lets see something different.

I wish Sofia would die -- only because she's so great, I don't want to see her driven into the ground with overuse. She'd be a great "S1 Villain" and S2 could start with a whole new menace.

Yeah I don’t want to see her in S2 or the film either, she’s had a full arc here depending on how they wrap this up. She doesn’t want to run a family like her dad, so where else is there to go with character.

Well, since I heard Sofia's going to be in The Batman II, my hope is a pipe dream. Given her popularity, they'll likely milk her to "death". She'll end up like Harley... yes, somehow she'll end up devolving into 'sex' and 'one-liners'.
That’s disappointing, if they bring Kravitz Catwoman back then the two would clash being so similar imo.
