Well, I told him I was interested in that and he said "?"

Damn.

Somebody told me they have a page for customers in China, where they listed a standard and a deluxe version.

Is there any description or pictures showing what the difference between the versions are?
I'm assuming the version that was offered to us is the deluxe as it comes with the 2 outfits and 2 headsculpts?

I found the taobao page if anyone wants a link.
You can't order directly from taobao unless you're in china, but you can use an agent (for a fee) like bhiner or superbuy to purchase from them and ship outside of china. Once they receive the item they will take photos and send to you, and then you can send the rest of the money and they will ship to you. You can only get a refund if the seller offers one tho from what their website says.
The taobao price ~150 for regular and ~260 for deluxe

I'm hoping that they will follow up with some type of updates as things progress but I've never ordered anything like this before.
Don’t expect that lol. I ordered something in stock, they liked my message and I didn’t hear anything for a week. I had to message them asking for an update and only then did they ship the product..

Multiple people manage that account so I’d recommend asking for updates every now and then and once the product releases ask them about your order.

Would you be able to send the link, please? I’d like to go for the regular. I don’t need the BD deluxe option. And if I end up losing this money, I’d rather it be less as possible lol.

Thank you.

Well, it’s totally on me, but I missed out. I just never felt 100% sold on por.toys enough to gamble on it. I really hope they come through for those who secured one however, and I’ll live vicariously through y’all.

I’m pulling for Justina’s, and if that never happens, looks like having an Officer K figure will keep eluding me.

Man, you really let this slip?

I hope Justina's comes through as well, but the value here was too good to pass. At worst, you'll have a good starting base, and parts to salvage for a final build.

I don't know how long it will take before we'll see a neatly wrapped package like this again. Most companies are only interested in the usual schlock. Blade Runner is niche, and mostly attracts artists within the custom scene (and it's typically very expensive). I know por's hardly reliable and there's risk involved, but I don't think they're scammers, and given their background, they're also not your average third party studio.

If there's still a chance, I'd advise you to give it a second thought. I was rooting for you to grab this 😅.

I'm a pretty massive Blade Runner fan, to the point where my wife and I go as K and Joi to conventions, so I'm pretty bummed I missed this. I think it looks incredible. But at the same time I'm kind of glad because giving $300+ flat out to someone via poorly translated Instagram messages is a massive gamble that you'll actually get something a year from now.

Of course when it releases and comes out amazing I'll definitely be envious, but for now it's best if logic wins the day.

Por.toys isn’t the type to scam you.
They do have communication issues though,
but that’s because multiple people run the account and English isn’t their preferred language, requiring you to sometimes keep up with your own order and have difficulty understanding them.

I personally always try to keep the conversation with them short and straight to the point knowing how bad they are with English, as to not confuse them about what it is you’re inquiring about.

What I do is DM them a photo of their product I want, ask price, estimate availability and shipping quote. Send payment, then send screenshot of payment for confirmation, then I receive tracking a day or two later if the product is in stock.

Not everyone’s experience has gone this way, so it’s safe to say yours may not either, but I’ve not heard of anyone being outright scammed.

I was tempted by the boots but for $100 plus probably $50 in shipping it didn't seem worth it. Por should hook up with a reputable store like kit for their full figures. Doesn't seem worth sending them $300 and hoping all goes well in 12 months.

See, I was also gunning for those boots. $100 is a hard pill for just a pair (money I would only spend on a select few characters). I also needed a new shirt ($80). But that's what made the price of the set even more attractive to me.

I had already bought their studio hands (which I realize is a complete waste of money now, given they're included in the set). But those are the best on the market. More value for everybody.

You're right about the last part. What's the worst case scenario though? You don't get your figure, but you still get your money back (right? 😅).

Best case...
You get what's been advertised.

I seriously doubt there will ever be a K this good at such a price point.

Eager to see Justina's attempt.

Anybody know what her Drifter set cost? Could give us an idea of what we can expect.

I'm almost certain the head is $200+ though. Another $250 for solid paintwork.

I spoke with Justina and she is putting a lot of care and time into perfecting her K, so that is very reassuring. She will be offering a full figure including outfit, with clean and battle damaged head options but they won't be painted.

Like @TonTon explained above, I was tempted to purchase from Por Toys but I could not take the risk. I prefer a more open forum and space for that sort of thing and or a credible runner/ middle-man - I've never ordered from Instagram for this sort of thing before, either. I've always been cautious and if I see too many red flags, or difficulties in a smooth deal, as I did in this case, I just step away for my own peace of mind and benefit. But recent events have also made me even more cautious and weary, as I have a £3k 1/4 Indy figure (just 1 of 2 made), 1/4 Han with 2 Han heads and 1/4 Raiders accessories lost in transit, with no tracking number for almost 6 weeks now, and the seller has blocked me. So, that alone has pushed me into only dealing via secure methods and in situations where I feel I can build and have trust. But based on input from those who know Por Toys's reputation, their K offering seems promising and like it should go well for everyone, I hope it does.

Exciting times ahead nonetheless for everyone pursuing this great character. I might be getting a Blackbox K soon, too to play around with, so will share my thoughts and comparisons with my custom Supermad figure if I do.

Happy - and safe - collecting.

I also missed out on it. Por says the cutoff is the 23rd, then that it's on 22nd but won't specify the time it closes, and once I wanted to order, project is closed bla bla bla.

I'll just wait for Justina, she had good communication while I was asking her about the Drifter outfit and her sculpt looks promising. Hope she makes the jump and start using retailers like Kit, KGHobby and Giantoys, even if it means an additional cost. I already bought stuff from Taobao through agents (CSSBuy) but I ultimately prefer buying from Kit.
