Least informative video ever but cool to see the blogger pics. The rifle is the DC15LE and since it is from the Jedi games it is smaller in size than the movie version DC15A (they made the rifles small in the games). If HT do proper movie weapons for the ROTS 20th they will need to make the rifles larger, not just remove the extra gizmos.

All in all the figure looks great and I prefer the HT airbourne trooper helmet to the wide Sideshow one. The HT ROTS airbourne troopers will look awesome I expect. I will need to track down a Purge commander as I missed the PO when it went up.

That dude doesn’t know squat about these things despite the perceived credibility he has as the “ultimate Star Wars collector.”

You don’t have Facebook or Instagram to check blogger pics? These were some of my standouts.

thanks for posting the pics! I don't have Facebook/Insta so only see the pics when posted places like here.

Should have this in hand soon, really some nice blogger photos of it. Perhaps this will get the 212 or 501 airborne out now they have the helmet done with a production piece.

This figure vibes Maximilian so much for me. Really dig the bright led.

I only just finally got the Sideshow 212th airborne the other day. I am excited for HT's take. Theirs will make the Sideshow one look so dated given how good HT's proportions, paint and overall quality is (I will still love the Sideshow one though, and Sideshows phase 1 and ARC clone helmets are still better than HT).

I will put the Purge troopers with my Umbra Arcs, Utapau shadow trooper and Kenobi Purge troopers.

Hopefully HT do the Purge and airborne troopers like they did the commandos (3 in a row in the same year) or phase 1.5 ARC's (Umbra exclusive then soon after Echo and Fives). I expect the two other Purge troopers they showed are next, hopefully as a 2 pack, then the 212th late next year.

Gives me a bit of a umbra trooper vibe, but that came with three helmets so if I were to decide what rare trooper to put on my shelf I'd have to pick that one. Oh wait they're both sold out since a day after release, Hot toys gonna hot toy I guess.

It’s a badass trooper design. I’ve always loved the scene when we first see them in Fallen Order alongside the Second Sister. That whole era of Star Wars is probably my favorite, starting with Operation Knightfall to when the Jedi are in hiding and being hunted across the galaxy, so the Inquisitors and the purge troopers have always been a fan favorite of mine.

I will admit though, it'll look really random by itself but oh well.

I think I’ll reserve a spot for him on the Disney SW shelf.

I feel like every time one of these limited troopers drops, I say to my Wife "this is one of my favorite troopers!"

Either they just ate gatekeeping me, or, I just like troopers. It's a mystery. But my wife is going to stop buying the favorite statement eventually.

You lose Sideshow, you lose . Kit is cheaper for me too.

After watching some in-hand reviews, I think I’m having reservations about keeping it. Not a big fan of the added weathering which makes sense for it being a Survivor based figure and not the cleaner/shinier Fallen Order based version. And the kama lining color is too bright. Ugh.

I doubt Trilla/Second Sister will be made too. Idk, I might let this one go lol

TK421 rates it highly as a figure, and that’s good enough for me. Ordered.

Comparison pic (left to right): Sideshow Utapau Shadow trooper, Hot Toys Umbra ARC Trooper, Hot Toys Purge Trooper Commander, Hot Toys gen 2 Purge Trooper.


Pros:
Great sculpt work all over, the airbourne helmet looks awesome.
Accurate weapon sculpt (rare for HT) and accurate (to game) size.
Kama has cut at back (there were worries it would be missing that split).
Nice weathering.
Pauldron is not pleather as far as I can tell (at first I thought the res section was pleather but feeling it I think it isn't).

Cons:
The visor is very dark when not lit up (which is most of the time). I would much prefer it either painted red like Sideshow or painted reflective metallic red like the gen 2 purge trooper.
Bicep ammo box fell off straight out of the box (usual crappy glue HT use, watch out, they are tiny pieces and will get lost easily)
Not many accessories and the stand uses a waist grabber (I get that kama would be awkward with crotch grabber but it would still be better for avoiding long term damage).


Now DC15 rifle comparsison:

Sideshow DC15A (non movie prop/realistic Clone Wars), Hot Toys DC15A (non movie prop/realistic Clone Wars), Hot Toys DC15A (live action TV show), Hot Toys DC15LE (video game), my own DC15A (movie) and my own DC15A (live action TV show).



As you can see the DC15LE is tiny in comparison just like it was depicted in the games. This mold won't work for ROTS/AOTC figures due to the smaller size and extra attachment, so HT will need a new mould for accurate movie rifles. This rifle though (along with the Kenobi 501st figures weapons) does show that HT is willing to move past the unused prop/realistic Clone Wars weapons they usually use so it is a very good sign to me.



Overall I rate the Purge Commander a solid 7/10. Good figure with a couple small nit picks (QC, dark visor) but also a couple great steps forward for HT (accurate weapon, less pleather use)
