Exactly - "Sold out" just means that JND has shifted their problem to some schmuck retailer - who will no doubt have this in their Black Friday 2026 sale with 15% - 20% off
yeah Spec have I think 30-35% off some JND right now

Here's an edit I tried

JND Aragorn Before After Edit.jpg

It’s funny (and telling) that it’s the same names who criticize INART – and by extension Queen – that are fans of this JND Aragorn. It looks horrible lol. I really wonder if our brains are indeed hardwired differently.

You can say my name, I don’t care. I already said Queen looks superior, all their prototypes look incredible (INART as well) but their production falls short.

I don’t even know what your thoughts are exactly on the 1/3 Aragorn comp. Just something I’ve observed.

Well I’m not getting either I don’t have the space for statues, but I like both and I can definitely see Viggo in both sculpts. Prototype wise Queen wins, but I have no faith in them pulling it off in mass production. Personally I really dislike the fact that INART (I’ve heard Queen as well) uses custom artists for their prototypes. Maybe that’s why I’m so critical, but I think it’s wrong to lure people in with a perfect prototype to then not match that in production.

At least with JND you can expect to receive what was shown. They might even improve upon the prototype, like they did with their Christopher Reeve Superman.

Still looks horrible.

Is Superman an improvement? Debatable. I cancelled mine as soon as they changed it and I still think after many photos and videos the sculpt is bad. JND is just not good at sculpting faces period.

WW silicone skin already cracking? Is that in the Jnd ww thread
Not cracking but changing color for one or more customers so the limbs look different to her chest/head which is done in house. I haven't been in the thread but it was in the facebook group and JND addressed it saying something like the colour will never fully match because the limbs are done at different times by different artists

One of those would be me. And yeah, at first look the Queen looked, in certain shots, like somehow the face was pushed in. Same issues with the InArt where you have to photograph it the right way or with the right lens or something, but in hand it looks fine.

Does this look like Viggo - obviously the likeness is off, but (besides the material choice) - I liked the look of the piece as an Aragorn - which JND alludes to, battle hardened, really weathered clothes etc. To me this is more like the book Aragorn in my head, as I was envisioning. Which would have been someone "craggier" than Viggo.

But for me - I came, I saw, I can't afford; and keep the number of 1/4 scales for me very limited. The boxes are huge; Sideshow's Obi is on PO; and I collect WETA pieces as well. This is a 2500$ 1/3 scale. 2500$. Congrats to those picking this up, or the Queen version; I'll enjoy the in hand pics.😁

There was no colour change, it just came with mismatching colours. I bought this up with them when it went in for repair and they ignored that part. Only recently started seeing these comments about WW, mine didn't change, it came that way, not sure why they're blaming it on different artists as such unless one team was legs and arm only and another team just head, either way, for their highest priced statue it's not exactly great, and more than that, how they can get the right matching colour paint for seperate fists and heads on other statues doesn't make any sense (my suspicion is that the head and chest is a different sort of Silicone, as the skin texture is a lot different on the head chest and right shoulder to the right arm below arm brace, left arm and legs - if a colour change is because of different artists than why is it the head and chest of every statue that is different, why no variation between the other mibs, but instead uniformity?). It's not an obvious colour difference at a distance but up close you can tell.

Do you have the quote JND gave? I never saw anything official, some people are saying theirs is fine but you can see a slight change.

Anyway, pre-ordered this Aragorn in the end.

Also, funnily enough it's actually a lot of JND collectors that are able to criticize the pieces without pure blindness of love for them. It's mostly non-collectors here that absolutely love to hate on every release in spite of seemingly not liking the company or the products.

A couple people have already mentioned the Queen Art looking better, yet no one wants to take a risk on it.

I'll see if I can find their response, I think someone said a post about it a week earlier had been removed so never know how many people have tried to bring this to others attention.
I thought something about exposure to sunlight or different display conditions was mentioned so I must have just assumed they meant the color gradually changed over time rather than being that way from the start.

Sounded like all limbs were done separate from the head/chest, since JND do portraits in house that sounds like the limbs were part of the factory line and would make sense about a color difference but for the future and their premium statues they should handle all silicone parts together.

I can't speak for anyone else but I would obviously love every JND release to be a 10/10 because they are capable of it, so it's a shame when poor likeness doesn't match the great material/production level and price of the overall statue but with the right sculptors they can do it. And with some releases when the likeness is very poor it's just a surprise that either they cannot see it or they don't care because they will sell out

here it is if you're in this private facebook group:

So maybe they did do all the silicone themselves but when she's put together it's with parts which may not have been painted together

I think it is, judging from the photos I have seen. I’ve also read quite a lot of positive feedback from people that received the statue.

Their statues are still some of the best in the market, even if the likeness isn’t spot on.
