Yeah. I'm reminded of my first reaction to the Thomas Jane Punisher where people were like "Thomas Jane?? Florida?? Moving freaking hire hydrants to give bad guys parking tickets?? Oh great ANOTHER cliche 'make your logo out of fire scene'??" But then after people processed it they were like "wait, that movie was actually pretty good," lol.

That punisher movie was so amazing. Def a early 00s good movie

TJ Punisher was and is awful.

What’s wrong with you people? :lol

Punisher has only been given the proper treatment once and that was in DDS2

TJ Punisher made me feel as bad for the villain as Frank and the villain surrounded himself with much more likable people than Frank did… OMG this neighbors.

Mind you this is coming from someone who spent his later teen years reading Punisher so I had and have strong feelings on how this character is handled.

TJ looked good in the part but I like my Punisher to look more like Mike Zecks art

Film even had Chief Brody and they still could not get me care :lol

Guitar guy was the best part. :lol

Maybe I’ll give it another shot. However I’m rarely wrong about such things though :lol ;)

It’s far better than War Zone though.

I loved that movie. Why did you not like it. Idk I have a soft spot for it cause it has that early 00s nu metal soundtrack I grew up with

I saw Kraven today and it was AWESOME. Exceeded my expectations. Sure, there were some dumb moments, and Russel Crowe did not belong within 50 miles of this movie, but it made me re-read Spidey #15 for a Kraven refresher. Love this character, and he was updated to my satisfaction. Would love to see him in the MCU

Sheesh saw some of the leaked Rhino stuff. Looks absolutly terrible. Take Spiderman far away from SOny

I need to watch it again to remember
The neighbors were awful and out of place for this movie.

Half the film felt like he was moving Fire Hydrants

Villains were average. Action was sparse and
I think he already told you. He is obsessed with comic accurate Frank and therefore melted down at everything the TJ Punisher did differently despite it being a watchable movie. ;)
lol that’s part way true

Besides the fact it strayed so far from the mood of the comic

1. Not much action
2. What action there was was meh
3. Lack of brutality and true vengeance
4. Fire Hydrants Instead of action
5. Fire Hydrants
6. Fire Hydrants
7. And Fire Hydrants :lol

I have to watch it again to remember exactly everything I disliked but I remember hating the story overall and JT not being that bad a guy… I don’t want to feel for the bad guy in a film like this.

You forgot Frank stealing earrings and planting them on henchmen to make the head bad guy think his wife was cheating on him. I'm pretty sure that was super accurate to the character and something that the classic Punisher did all the time in the comics, lol. :monkey3

:chase

Jane’s Punisher extended cut is a great throwback action movie and I love that Castle uses his smarts just as good as his guns to eliminate the villains, shame movie was shot in Tampa :slap

Sure you can be the Punisher anywhere but his first movie outing should always by NYC!

Look at Penguin shot in NYC and it looks great!

While I love Ray Stevenson, PWZ is corny bad.

Dardevil S2 also gave us a great Punisher i’m just not a fan of midget Bernthal.

He makes it work I guess but I would prefer a taller actor.

JAWS is just grumpy because it snows alot where he lives…no wait that’s me lol

I mean Rhino conceptually could have been pretty straight forward basic War Machine as an established functional template, though more grounded, and beefed up as per his character type, with a more bio-mechanical Armored Rhino theme, to make it completely it's own.
So instead Sony imagines some overwrought, outrageous steampunkish disaster,
And that laughably failing, re-imagines him as a WereRhino?
Was there no middle ground? :lol

Mike Zeck's art for Punisher is still my favorite to. I still have all my posters from the 80's and 90's. I liked the Tom Jane movie but it wasn't the best for how driven and crazy and precise Castle is. Daredevil season 2 was the best version for sure. Although they regressed in giving him his own show. Frank works best to me as the bogey man with supporting appearances.

Sony is just dumb.

First rhino is when transformers was big so they made him look like a transformer and second one is them doing last minute bs cause they knew kraven would t sell

What does Punisher remind you of in Terms of throwbacks?

You should go see Werewolves. Talk about a throwback. It reminded me when films like I come in Piece, Creature, the Howling II Steven Segal films, etc somehow got theatrical releases.

For me that was the least of the films problems
