vs. OneSixth but yeah, there's times Kit is the only vendor I trust to get stuff I can't get anyplace else. Or, since I buy my figs accessories, I won't spend more than 100$ - if that - ordering from China direct. There's cool stuff from China but figure there's no way if there's an issue I'd get my money back from an e-bay seller.

Like I'm trusting Kit will get me the RANGER CLOAKs I ordered, or at least a refund. I guess my head canon needs to be that Aragon is hunting Gollum on the borders of Harad and it's really hot so he ditched his cloak.
Or being Aragorn he gave it away to a poor peasant.😁

Seems like this will be a hefty piece
Yeah, but if you have room, and shelves that can take any weight, I think "neutral" diorama bases add a lot to a display. Am amazed at the nice bases Phicen does for some of their girly warrior figs.

Got the deluxe a couple of days ago.

Question on the Shards of Narsil statue, I know there's already a product that exists but I was pondering what it would take to see if a true 1/6 scale version could be made. The thing that bakes my noodle right now is that it seems like there are two different version in the films. In FOTR, the 'fabric' under the shards is sculpted, but in ROTK, it looks more like actual fabric, like velvet.

Any thoughts? Or maybe they are both velvet, just different shades? I don't think it's supposed to be the same color in both films, as I'm not sure color grade and lighting could do that. Obviously the orientation of the shards themselves are different.

I guess the real question is, if you could commission a new sculpture, would you have the fabric be sculpted or actual fabric?

To my eye, it looks like the same prop/set and it looks like fabric in both. Possibly just shot under different lighting conditions? (Velvet is very lustrous and kind of famous for looking different under different light.)

If I was commissioning a statue, I'd definitely go with real fabric if I could find one thin enough with the right texture.

Anyone order from One Man’s Hobby? Are they legit?
Very much. Tried my luck on their Black Friday deal and got a third Premium Aragorn.

Finally decided to open one up and see what all the fuss is about.
I really love this.
The impression that I’ve got a little Viggo standing on my desk is so fun. Nothing toyetic about this; it’s pure quality craftsmanship all round imo.

Naturally I’m taking ages and futzing the hell out of it to get exactly what I want but out of the box is still pretty splendid.

I’m going for the Amon Hen look for this first one.
That just means ditching the duster and vambraces and opening up his jerkin.

Weathering will follow and I’ll probably add that sleeve tear and some blood for the post Lurtz battle look.

The materials are so thin but don’t feel flimsy or cheap. I only fee that the belt could have been better executed. It’s very clean, smooth, and shiny.

Next up is seeing what sort of hair I get out of the box-

Pretty wavy, wet looking, and only just long enough. I always intended to cut and restyle anyways so no biggy.

Here he is with some bangs and a minor restyle. I want him looking pretty greasy.

The bangs truly are a must.

Since I have so many Aragorns now, I figured I could take the plunge and see what some additional painting could achieve.

I’m pretty much finished. Redoing the beard at the very least is definitely the way to go.

Edit: A little additional tinkering and hair futzing to work more of the curl out.
