They should have shrunk down the 1/4 head instead of the cartoon/stylized sculpt we ended up with. Blonde is the worst of Sideshow’s Legacy figures just due to the bad head sculpt. Even the Iminime bootleg sculpts are better.
Yup I would have been a lot happier with the PF sculpt, as it's at least a well done caricature that looks like the actor.

I wasn’t going to get this figure because the head looks just SO bad.

I had a Munny custom in the past using the head play head (which I sort of wish I had right now despite it being very small) didn’t miss selling it because it sold for a lot and despite me doing a good job with it as possible given it was a bash, it still was just a meh thing in my collection,

But I watched unforgiven recently and it’s just a really good film. Good Bad and the Ugly is maybe my favorite film but I see this as a great bookend to cowboy Clint. Munny absolutely has a place in my collection without doubt,

Even still I could not pull the trigger. But I got him for 200 bucks in a Boxing Day sale and all it really did was whet my appetite for a good Munny.

The body and outfit are top notch . I don’t know why hot toys can’t like collab with Hot Toys again becusse their head portraits are just really bad. But I will say they have hot toys beat in body (their buck is far better than any hot toys bucks with are all awful) and I’d go so far to say that their tailoring is just leaps and bounds above hot toys, the way they use fat suits and all that. So I wish they would combine efforts again. Accessories are cheap but apart from that despite this awful head this is a damn nice figure,

I did repaint this Munny. But It didn’t help a lot. I’m debating if I bother to spend the time to shoot and show it or not. The head is just too bad…

One thing though that it made me do is reach out to one of my favorite artists. I’ll be working with him and directing a William Munny and a Blondie to boot, it’s just been far too long since he’s seen a new head sculpt. The best was Trevor’s and that’s dated now. I’ll be doing them both with the sideshow releases in mind, though I’ll be going with unarticulated fully sculpted necks, so it might require a body mod. Probably just slicing off the rubber part of the neck and it will sit right on top of the joint, I can’t abide those heads that sit atop a neck like these figures have. These are particularly bad but nothing screams “doll” to me more than that,

And yes I’ll either be offering this unpainted (I may paint one or two for very serious backers) or letting in some contributors in a limited run. I don’t check this forum often these days so if you want this ( non need to commit now just interest) please Pm me. If I get a few I’ll formally start an interest thread on Custom One Sixth, I’m also lazy so I doubt I’ll be promoting this a lot other than this post and COS. So if you know others who may want this please send them my way. But the heads should be really good by my standard. Which is high.

If you’re curious to what the result will be, check out it my Don Draper and T-1000 on my instagram @rfcustomfigures. I’m pretty satisfied of both those likenesses I worked on with the same artist and really excited to work on two Clint’s with him.

Yeah a new sculpt is definitely the way to go. I tried mocking mine up with the Art Figs head but while it's an improvement it's just not on the level the character really deserves.

I don't know if I'll get Sideshow's Munny yet but I'm definitely in for a custom Blondie sculpt. The character deserves better.

I am in as well for Blondie, painted too if possible.

Sorry guys - as always . . . each to their own . . . but I didn't get ANY of the Sideshow "cowboy related" pieces - just the original 1:6 "Dirty Harry", and can't help but feel that we are lacking in the "Kelly" and "Philo" departments :)

If Sideshow have exhausted their remit/licence, I REALLY hope that someone else in the 1:6 (or statue) business pics up the slack (sometimes I think Sideshow are not too tightly wrapped ;) ).

EDIT:

Sideshow added 'Limited Edition' to the first photo:

View attachment 733585

I had to use screen shot to show that image, because if you download the photo (which is in the annoying avif format that I have to convert to something readable) the 'Limited Edition' tag doesn't show.

It's as though the words aren't part of the photo file at all. :huh

I was still kicking myself for getting suckered into pre-ordering this from Sideshow when they put him back up.

The email was pretty much a scam since he's still up for pre-order four months later.

I pre-ordered at once and didn't have many reward points to offset the cost, shipping and inevitable 20% tax on top of everything.

Checking Kit's site, the listing was still active and at $325 delivered was worth cancelling with Sideshow and eating the NRD. (Sideshow was going to cost $285 + $35 + 20% = $384).

Plus I don't have to deal with FedEx, who've become a nightmare since I can no longer guarantee that they'll take the customs charges directly from my account without admin fees as they used to. Nowadays they're more likely to send me a bill including admin fees as if my account didn't exist.

The worst case scenario is that FedEx bill me with fees and then take the money automatically from my account without fees as well, as they did with Josey Wales. In that case they ignored my online dispute and all my emails. However, months later the first (higher) payment was refunded to my card with no communication whatsoever.

The alternative to avoiding the FedEx nightmare is to switch to DHL, which not only costs more but is guaranteed to have the admin fee included in the bill.

The best alternative of all is to order from Kit!

My Sideshow reward points from Blondie got returned to my account and are valid for another year, so there's that bonus too.
