I loved this movie. I didn't care for the sideshow figure from years ago, but after what happened to Evil Dead Ash, I'm not preordering this until final pictures come out. Those first pictures of ash were trash, they failed big time on that figure, which sucked because I wanted, and still want, an Ash figure.

Real shame about that jacket. Proportions and stitching feels off, like they didn't pay much attention to the movie version.

I’m kinda worried about the seamless arms, just noticed all the arms posed with the pistol is the alt jointed arms.

Looks like the jacket might be the way to go

Good catch.
Noticed this too and but there is some range of motion. I think they used vinyl and which tends to bunch the more you bend. This is not bad but for the price point it needs to be on par with HT rubber arms. Its a shame Asmus did not comment on this.

From what Asmus said about the hands I wouldn't put too much weight into the details in what they're showing for the body right now. It looks like a lot of placeholders were used just to get something up. I'm pretty sure all the photos so far are photoshopped CG heads on the bodies anyway, cause none of them look right to me.

If you look at this you can see the two different resolutions between the zips on the shirt shoulders and the fabric weave and the head sculpt. If it was a focal length issue it would be softer but not more artefacted.

I don't think it's worth getting too worked up about any perceived defficiencies at this stage. They're obviously pretty far into production, I'd wager everything but the headsculpt has been done for a while but the ability to photograph a fully finished production sample isn't available yet.

Hopefully we get that in the next couple of weeks now the headsculpts finalised and most likely in production.

I've preordered the sculpted through Kit too, i've seen enough to be confident the likelihood of this being a great figure outweighs it coming out a dud. That said, I'll be more than happy to do some customising to get it to where I want to if it's not there out of the box.

Rooted “sold out” on Asmus store.

Debating whether I should get the sculpted for the EX base - shipping seems to be around $35 per figure for other figures on the Asmus store.

$315 at Asmus vs $272 shipped @Timewalker (no base).

I wish this wasn't a Crown series release, with the option of rooted or sculpted hair. As a regular release, sculpted would have been just fine.

I'm mostly over the novelty of rooted hair after finding it to be the most problematic of features a figure can have and the weakest incentive for a substantial premium price hike. Having said that, I hate the idea of opting down for a sculpted version when I know the manufacturer put an ideal premium version on the market that I could have chosen. That's the collector FOMO nonsense that riddles my mind. If I'm going to spend the big bucks I tend to throw my buying power into the best version possible, so why settle for the discounted dumbed-down idiot cousin over the shining gem golden child?

Not understanding your complaint? You say you’re over glued on hair and you’d be fine with sculpted. They are offering sculpted at a cheaper price, but you feel like you should get the glued on hair?

First of all, it wasn't a complaint and I think I was pretty clear in my post. As I said, knowing there is a premium version out there makes the sculpted seem like a lesser cop-out of a purchase. You live with the decision and always question whether it was the best thing to do with this kind of collecting and this amount of money. Sometimes options, premium vs standard, isn't always a good thing when it comes to collecting. I didn't say I'd be fine with the sculpted in this case. I would if it was the only version available.

I thought the rooted InArt Aragorn wasn't as successful as they had hoped for and it almost compromised an otherwise perfect figure. But their sculpted was terrible in comparison! So I'm glad I chose the better version, but it's still not a stellar home-run of a release. Sometimes these rooted/glued hair sculpts turn into more of an experiment in trying to get the technology right - some work and some don't.

Pre-ordered the sculpted one!!!

Awesome, hope it is to your liking. I'm tempted to order it too but I only want it for the body.

On that note, someone shared the below video with me recently. Someone mentioned in this thread earlier that there seems to be a reason why Asmus has only showed Plisken with his arm bent using the jointed arm. They used an arm condom for their older Ash figure seamless arms which was squishy and looked quite terrible to me when bent. So, perhaps it is the same with Plisken, just a thought. I thought I would share to this in case it is of help and adds any insight. I'd most likely be having the arms straight, though. So, if it is a case of the same type of arms, I'd be OK with them.

I got the standard Ash so never seen those arms in person, they look very unsightly in those images.

Hoping the nail the Jacket on snake since that’s my preferred look anyway so the arms doesn’t change anything for me.

Curious what do you want the body for?
