It's interesting. Reddit would have me believe this film has everyone (except those "cultish" Synderbros) on this entire planet in huge anticipation for this film.

O no my good sir. The substance was plenty naughty. Sure it had a message to tell. But it was super hot in telling it.

Sarcasm?
It's interesting because generally anything the majority claims as awesome, I watch it and am simply 'whelmed' and am left questioning my taste in film.
Care to go any deeper with your opinion (without spoilers)?
It's a clever idea. Goes places many other movies don't. The last 15 minutes took it too far IMO and took it from a really interesting movie to bloody stupid.

I personally thought the last 15 minutes of The Substance was the best part of the movie.
A friend of mine would probably agree with you. To me it almost feels like its jumping to another genre.

No sarcasm. I was genuinely disappointed with it.
It was...fine? Right until the last half hour, when it devolved into a cartoonish mess. Before that, it mostly was guilty of having good ideas that weren't fully realized, but that ending...oof. It was rough.

Not just the ending unfortunately. I'd skip this train wreck entirely if I were you and preserve my fond memories of Demi...

. I mean I’m all for them working together. I said Snyder is good at visuals but sucks at story telling. Gunn can bring in emotion and good stories. Together they can work magic . lol I don’t dislike Snyder I just think his dc movies sucked but had good things in them
