I'm here because I am hoping someone here can help with information on dealers in the Wichita area.

My brother has a lot of toys, but he is experiencing a life changing illness and I need to convert his collection to cash that he is going to need for medical bills and other things going forward.
He has Transformers.
He has X-Men.
He has Marvel and DC Comics superheroes.
He has Funko-Pops.
He has Dinosaurs.
He even has a Barbie doll because she's "Paleontologist Barbie" (studies dinosaurs).
He has a ton of sports cards--I'm guessing from the number of boxes there must be 100,000 or more sports cards.
He also has a ton of comic books that our other brother is working to sell.

I need to hopefully find a dealer in Wichita to take these toys and action figures--almost all new-in-the-box, give us an appraisal and buy them. Almost all of these boxes are dusty with cobwebs that I have to clean off, and there is some kind of spatter dots on some of the packages that I've been told is from flies. I can't describe how he was living before we got him to the emergency room nearly a month ago now, but he has two cats who had nowhere else to go because their litter box was a solid brick from not being cleaned or changed. The smell was overpowering. I can't imagine what it must have been like for those cats living in that house with the number of flies that it must have taken to leave this much whatever this is on these boxes. There is a pile of dead flies on every window sill.

I'm an eBay reseller, but we don't have the time for me to list all of these and then wait for buyers. It takes a lot of my time as it is, just to clean off the dust and cobwebs and those spatter dots as best I can. I've listed about 30 and sold two so far. That takes a lot of time from me for my own business and my own family's needs, and it's just too much.

I tried calling a place called Hero Haven Comics and Toys, and all I kept getting is some stupid answering system that went nowhere. If any of you know that is a functioning business, please tell them to fix their ridiculous answering system because they have to be losing some business to that.

Can anyone here recommend a dealer in the Wichita area?

Thank you

I don't live in your state, but a Google search pulls up a few comic shops. I see Prairie Dog Comics and Wizard's Alley, though it seems the hero place you mention is more focused on Toys.

I also found an ebay consignment place. Online reviews aren't great, and I'm sure you would only get a fraction of what they sell for, but if you don't have other options that's something to consider.

Another option is to list everything on Facebook marketplace and look for a local buyer.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Best of luck.

I am an eBay reseller. I've sold some of these things already, and I'm listing more every day, but it just takes a lot of my time and takes me away from MY business. Then you have to wait for the buyer who wants THAT item. That's why there are consignment shops, but they understandably take such a huge cut that I'd think we'd get more going to a dealer.

Long story but I can't get on Facebook. 20 year career in the submarine Navy and another 20 years working for defense contractors with US government DoD credentials and security clearance, but a company tied into ID.ME can't verify my identity 🤷‍♂️

Do you need to verify ID for Facebook now? I have my original account - which is under my own name - and an account under the name of a wizard from a book I read when I was 10 that I use to stay plugged in to various toy groups. I only created that second account a year ago and have had no problems operating it. I suspect marketplace is your best bet. Craigslist might be a good way to connect as well.

Apparently you do. They even give you a link to ID.ME, and I know it's legit because I have had to do other things related to the government and DoD credentials and my veteran's benefits through that.

Sorry to hear of brothers situation. For bulk collections sale, you can also try Brian’s Toys. You would have to list the items and send them pictures so they give you a quote on your collection. Good luck mate.
