Do you mean sand it down to make the connector shorter or thinner? And has it continued to work well even a year later?

Has it worked pretty well so far? Does it feel looser or like it doesnt fit right? And did you do any modifications to the peg itself?

So I actually just ended up breaking the joint on mine, and struggling to find a replacement. I don't own any old Sideshow figures and am thinking of buying a part of one to replace the joint, which did you use?
