A pretty weird release--so many improvements on the Deluxe, but the suit itself appears to be less accurate than the original, and they've billed the inaccuracy as an improvement. Still, the figure looks awesome if you aren't bothered by that. I'm no BVS fan, but even I find this tempting.

Yeah, I agree about the shoulders. I'd have to play the game again, but the shiny plates seem about right to me--however, the shiny undersuit (i.e. arms and legs) are definitely wrong.

This will probably be my 1/4 Iron Man. I think this is one of their better Tony headsculpts, and unless they do a 46, this is the suit for me. If they did a matching War Machine eventually we'd really be in business.

Yeah, I wouldn't count on these discounts continuing for newer figures. They aren't in the business of losing money; the production runs on new figures have surely been significantly reduced to match the reduced demand, and thus end the era of shelf-warmers and deep discounts.

Interesting. Do you mind linking the spray you used? Also, any tips on ensuring the paint doesn't dry in a way that locks up the joints of the torso?

This looks fantastic. The stock glossy finish just evaporates all the shape and detail since it has no depth; this makes the figure nearly perfect. I'd love to do this, but I'm terrified I'd break something, or worse, screw up the paintjob. Good airbrush kits aren't cheap, either--and I don't...
