They are metal, one of the claws on mine was damaged, (Sideshow sent me a replacement) the tip was bent and the paint was off of the tip, very sharp it punctured my thumb when I picked it up.
Agreed, prices have gone up tremendously in the last few years. We are no longer paying 300 to 400 for a statue, we should be getting something that is closer to the proto. Other recent Sideshow statues have been fairly close to their prototype.
The face is the most important part of this...
Wow, they really blew it! Glad I did not pre-order. This could have been the best representation of Wonder Woman that Sideshow has ever done, I do not understand how they could have goofed this up. :-(
The sculpt is amazing but the paint apps on the face are horrible! I will have to wait to see...
I agree the clam shell is likely to cause scuffling on the helmet. The bubble wrap option is better. My replacement helmet is in absolute perfect condition thanks to the bubble wrap.
My replacement head was not in a clamshell, it was heavily wrapped in bubble wrap. It was in perfect condition tusks intact no scurf marks on the dome.
I got a replacement head this Monday. The head was heavily wrapped in green bubble wrap, with additional paper to pad and fill out the box, very carefully packaged. My replacement head is in perfect condition tusks and all.
My exclusive head had a chipped ear but I got a replacement from Sideshow. I reported my chipped head the day I got my statue and received a replacement about a week later.
Re: Darth Vader (Mythos) Statue
Sideshow listed Mythos Vader under both the comming soon and now shipping areas of the newsletter. This must be a typo. I wish it were shipping now!
