1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

The tyres are off-road RC car tyres. I normally look in the 1/8 scale range, to find the size I need. I will scratchbuild some wheel inserts to match the movie.

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Making the rear wheel arch extensions. Each one is made up of 4 layers of plasticard. A Dremel is used to shape it, then sanded down. Glued to the car. The inside of the arch is ground down, to allow more room for the wheel.

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Making the rear bumper. This starts as a strip of plasticard with square beams glued to the ends. The end pieces are attached. They are curved to match the bodywork. Adding the lower panels. More square beams are used to fill in the gaps around the rear lights and the number plate...

    Jazz Inc - 1/6 1966 Batmobile

My 66 was supposed to be delivered today. I received a Fedex small box containing some random documents. Not only am i out of pocket by about £2000, i won't get my Batmobile. Somewhere along the chain, the correct shipping label was removed and stuck on a box of crap.

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Making the air scoops on the sides. I started by gluing 10 lengths of L beams together. Cut to the right size and taper the fins at the leading edge. Cut a hole in the bodywork and fit. Making the trim pieces. each one is made from 4 pieces of plasticard. Rough shaping is done by a...

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Finished off the ends of the trunk frame and started making the spoiler end pieces. I made them too big at first, so cut them down. All filled and sanded down. I also added the ridges on the rear panel.

VTS 1/6 Starship Force - Lieutenant (Starship Troopers)

He looks better with the helmet on. Without it, he looks almost Asian. Hopefully, we get more releases from this, an Ace or Sugar Watkins would be good. Dizzy is the next logical choice, but that would require new tooling for the smaller boots and armour.

Hot Toys Bane 2.0 (The Dark Knight Rises)

Looks like a worthy upgrade, with lots of new features. I'm glad they made the pants a much looser fit. They should re-issue the Camo Tumbler, but with an interchangeable roof with options for missiles or cannon.

EXO-6 Star Trek “The Motion Picture (TMP)” Figures

If I remember correctly, Kirk never sat in the TMP chair in his Admiral's uniform. By the time the ship left spacedock, he had changed into the grey uniform. Actually, the TMP chair would suit a TWOK Khan, since the original Enterprise chairs were used for the Reliant.

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Building the rear trunk opening. Adding the outer body panels. There is an inner frame to support the extra fuel tanks,. With both openings cut out, the centre section was quite weak, so i added extra beams. Fitting the frame to the car. Fuel tanks fitted temporarily. These are...

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Making the door hinges. The hinges are screwed to the body. There are square tubes glued to the inside of the door panel, which the hinges slide into. This allows me to quickly remove the door panel during the build, saving me the trouble of un-screwing the hinges every time. The...

EXO-6 Star Trek “The Motion Picture (TMP)” Figures

I've read some of the criticisms of the Kirk figure having legs that were too long. Actually, it's his jacket that is too short, making the legs appear longer. In this screen shot, the bottom edge of the jacket hangs below the sleeves. The prototype is screen accurate as well...

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Making the outer door panels. Each door is made up of 3 separate panels, which are shaped individually, then joined together. It's easier to shape them in separate parts, rather than 1 big one. Making the top panel. This one is the trickiest, as it has a fold at the front edge, which flattens...

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Roof spoiler in place. Making the rear door jambs. Re-attaching the roof. With the door jambs in place, i can start work on the doors.

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

I managed to acquire a new engine model for this project, a supercharged Ford unit from a dragster. I'll remove the exhausts and refit them onto the side of the car. Managed to finish building the "A" pillars. There is a brass rod embedded inside for strength and the ends are screwed to the...

EXO-6 Star Trek "The Wrath of Khan" Figures

I passed on Kohlinar Spock, it just wasn't a look i was interested in, but i'll definitely be ordering this.

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Building the rear trunk floor. I cut off the roof, as it was needing it's angle corrected and would be easier to shape when it's off the car. Making the roof. I'll re-attach it, once the "A" pillars are made.

Hot Toys Back to the Future II - 1/6th scale DeLorean Time Machine

The new wheel design looks a lot better. I was contemplating cancelling my PO, but I'm happy to keep it now. I just wonder if there's a way to motorize it.

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

I've gotten back to working on the Interceptor. Joining the front and rear ends. I may need to adjust the roof slightly. I've beefed up the sills substantially, as chassis flex has created big problems with panel alignment in the past. As for my Daft Punk helmet, i ran into some issues. My...
