I actually like the HT rendition better than that real prop. It maintains the Batmobile details with less random changes/adjustments. The front part of the missile pod, from the top of the body to the top part of the wheel isn't as thick as the real Batmissile, where did that extra height come...

Yeah the biggest difference is in the paintwork quality and people getting different hair styling. Paintwork not as finely detailed as the prototype, but still pretty good for a mass production. Wish the beard paint was better. This is my hair out of the box.

Tire width looks accurate. In the movie scene it pretty clearly is just 2 wheels up front and then 2 wheels in the back, but then somehow the tire width magically lengthened to be able to meet the edges of the torpedo body. But the real prop on display looks like it actually has to use 8 wheels...

So the size and length actually looks to be pretty accurate. It's longer than the outdated HT 89 Batmobile, only 1.6cm shorter from the Jazzinc 89 Batmobile. Proper canopy shape and paint finish. If Jazzinc makes one I'm not sure what additions there would be to justify the higher price.

Regarding the 8 wheels, the Batmobile could have been hiding the other 4 wheels somewhere even if implausible in regards to amount of space, just like how the canopy magically changed shape lol. I just remember thinking as a kid this scene made the Batmobile even cooler.

The finish for this actually looks pretty accurate. The Batmobile in Returns doesn't look as glossy as I've seen some toys make it, or the actual prop car that was repainted for public shows. It's barely glossier than 89.

I'm reading orange peel can only be fixed by sanding the paint flat and then compounding the paint to remove sand marks and then polish. This definitely should have been the production painters' job. Guess you could try the less abrasive method first and see if that does anything to help before...
