I'm excited about this figure! I've been getting too used to paying the Hot Toys $200+ for some figures with too few accessories. This is a much welcome breath of fresh air. Anyone have input on the quality of other VTS figures and how they compare?

It does have a fleeting likeness, but the outfit and accessories have me hooked. I'd like to put together a treasure hunter shelf with Lara Croft and the upcoming Nathan Drake from Sideshow.

Are there any known issues to look out for on this figure? It's been starting to grow on me lately and I think I may try and search out a deal on one.

I've had my Storm Shadow on display missing a couple of the tiny decorative jacket buttons for the past few months. I just now realized that Hot Toys included a pack of extras in the box... :slap It was a welcome surprise to find those there though!

Is it normal for SS exclusive versions to be on preorder this long? I've been holding out on this because I'm waiting for my rewards points to clear.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that Whiplash MK2 will be priced similarly to the MK42 diecast, ~$310. The MK42 has a fair amount of extra parts compared to the diecast WM MK2 to justify its higher price. From the previews so far it doesn't look like Whiplash is going to come with...

If it goes for $820, that's actually not too bad of a price. The BD MK7 is still about $500, so that's like getting Midas at retail.

My Hot Toys Iron Man batteries not only leaked, they literally exploded, making a loud popping noise in my room similar to the small "pop rocks" fireworks you can purchase for the 4th of July. Luckily I took them out of the figures beforehand, and had them double bagged.

That's a big disappointment, the photos made it look like a plastic overlay. But since there are reports of that problem, is it already on the market? Sideshow says they aren't available until Feb. 2014.
