For my Gandalf and other orders from KG it's almost always 3-4 weeks after paying the invoice that it ships. After i pay, its about 2 weeks until it changes to Awaiting Shipment, then a few days to a week to change to Shipped (when they just assign a label), then its at least another week before...

Sounds odd indeed! Chroming can be challenging at times for sure. I've had wildly different results from the wrong application angle, distance, room temp, etc. Good luck to you! :)

Regarding the chrome finish, looking at the photos it appears the metal machete has quite a bumpy surface? Even the most subtle and fine detail grainy surface can dull a chrome finish quite severely as the light hitting it is uneven. To get an effective chrome look, the surface below must be...

Thankyou! I also actively try to approach the details with that kind of eye. One thing that always throws off the scale for me is oversized stitching and thread weave, so instead I've been using a strong fabric glue for folding seams, as well as the tighest cotton fabric weave i could find...
