    Agonistes' Star Wars customs

I've been working this past week on the neck and installation of the whole helmet. Since I split the base of the helmet, the peg that goes into the head now sits much higher within the head (with the joint around the actual base of the skull). So this meant increasing the neck length. I made a...

I love the lighting in this shot!

Great setups, and beautiful poses! I really like the groupings, and each figure stands out in its own way because of the unique poses.

    Agonistes' Star Wars customs

My current progress: I sanded the tubes off completely with grit 240, 400, 600 and 1000 I sculpted the chin vent in super sculpey. Still need to sand it Thinned the lower "lip" of the mouth Next steps are resculpting the silver nose slightly, priming everything, and then building the mouth and...

    Agonistes' Star Wars customs

Thanks! This is the part I love most about customizing (dremeling, re-tooling, adding small details, etc), so I'm having a lot of fun with this. For some reason I hadn't considered repainting the entire things until @matrix69 posted his 1:6 custom. That actually solved some roadblocks in my...

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace - 1/6th scale Darth Maul™ Collectible Figure (25th anniversary)

Same here. First time ordering a HT from kit for me instead of from an EU shop. I guess this means no more extra months of waiting once he releases in HK. :) I've had SSC Maul V1, SSC V2 and the HT Maul V1, and this release was still an instant pre-order for me, so I fully get you. I...

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace - 1/6th scale Darth Maul™ Collectible Figure (25th anniversary)

Same here. I've been refreshing every few min for the past hour trying to get into his first batch. :lol

1/6 Hot Toys Luke Skywalker - Dark Empire (Legends)

For a 15-16 year old figure, that looks pretty good! Hurricane was really ahead of his time. His Vaders still rival today's HT efforts in terms of accuracy. Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago. I believe his wife posted using his account.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace - 1/6th scale Darth Maul™ Collectible Figure (25th anniversary)

I really only need the sculpts - I don't see any improvements from the neck down - but I'm just going to get the whole thing. I don't want to go through the hassle of having to snag two highly sought after sculpts off TA, and Maul is just too important to me. There's no need to worry about the...

1/6 Hot Toys Luke Skywalker - Dark Empire (Legends)

I still have my Mando Luke boxed up sans sculpt (which I'm using on my ROTJ Luke), and I was thinking that I might use parts of it to make a Dark Empire inspired Luke of my own in the future. Now that I see this version, it's not doing much for me though. I think part of the reason though is...

Somebody posted in the other thread that that was a mistranslation.

This looks pretty cool overall based on these shots. But I'm happy that I don't see much of (ROTJ) Hamill in there, so I don't feel the need to upgrade the sculpt yet again. :lol

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace - 1/6th scale Darth Maul™ Collectible Figure (25th anniversary)

Yeah that looks like I have to get at least both heads... I'm a sucker for new Mauls. Annoying that it doesn’t seem that they fixed the eyes though. Maul needs larger irises (the yellow part) and smaller pupils. That's what the SS V2 did so well.

1/6 Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back - 1/6th scale Darth Vader 40th Anniversary

Perfect, thanks. I'll order it right away. Amongst others, I'm using the same Dagobah shot as reference for the chin vent. I'll add the second one as well since it's well lit, thanks! :clap

1/6 Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back - 1/6th scale Darth Vader 40th Anniversary

Great work! And thanks for the tip of using Tamiya gunmetal spray. Guess I'll be doing a complete repaint of the 1:4 HT Vader helmet I'm working on... Did you use TS-38 (gunmetal satin)?

1/6 Hot Toys Stormtroopers Deluxe Version MMS514/515

I don't think I've seen anybody sell finished and painted buckets unfortunately. For my unpainted casts, I think I paid around $30-50 per helmet. But it's the hours of dremeling, sanding, priming and painting that makes them so time consuming. That might be the reason why I haven't seen anybody...

    Agonistes' Star Wars customs

I haven't made much actual progress on Vader in terms of building, but I did have two breakthroughs of sorts. For the past 2 weeks I've been thinking what to use behind the mouth grill to add texture, and yesterday I finally figured it out. I had a netting from an old wallet that I kept just in...

1/6 Hot Toys Stormtroopers Deluxe Version MMS514/515

I agree that the HT Sandtrooper is the best one they have made so far, but it still shows a lot of room for improvement. Here's a comparison I made of 4 buckets I have. From left to right: Marmit Sandtrooper, HT Stormtrooper, Custom stunt bucket (from solo_bones, painted by me), HT Sandtrooper.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

I had a bit of time to unbox him and set him up. He doesn't disappoint! I still need to water treat and style the beard and hair, but he already looks great as is. Mine already came styled quite well, I only futzed the hair with my fingers. A quick phone pic:
