    Make-up effects have been painting silicone for prosthetics a long time. Scale is different but methods I would guess are the same. Dye silicone and thin it down with a solvent for airbrushing and painting. Silicone sticks to itself so it could be tougher than regular paint because it's bonding...

    Marks on 3D prints? Any thoughts?

    Depending on the angle of printing that can either be stair steps from not enough layers or voxels which is similar. Each pixel creates steps but going both directions on the x or y axis. Both can be decreased by any aliasing. Or using a higher resolution printer.
