Hot Toys 1992 Batman Returns 2.0

Yeah, my only hesitation for ordering this figure was whether that ‘89 Batcomputer is ever still coming, and if It’d be offered with some ‘89 figures. But I don’t know where I would have put that computer anyhow.

Here are some photos from a real camera.

🤣 ok maybe not. Where are his eyebrows? 🤔 It’s been so long since I’ve seen either Terminator film - the new 40th anniversary 4k restoration will be a good excuse to watch the first film again.

To my eye, the sculpt Yixie posted looks more like Arnold in the second half of T1 than it does Arnold in T2, but I’m no terminator expert.

Yep, I think this is as close as the hair is gonna get in sculpted plastic. We would have needed a $500 Artisan Edition with Rooted Thinning Hair Action to come any closer 🤪

I found some more photos of the figure on display, although these are obviously cellphone photos so not the highest quality.

Was watching Dean Knight’s old review of the Returns batman and realized the new diorama base is very much inspired by the 1/6 Tweeterhead Catwoman statue base. So the cape included with this Batman is the same one bundled with the ‘89 2.0 Batman, we think? Right down to having the pockets...

I think the likeness is stronger in these lower-light photos. The blue of the eyes might be too intense and that comes across in the brighter images, throwing off the likeness. It’s not a perfect sculpt, but I do think it’s the best Keaton sculpt available.

Pretty wild to see ‘92 Batman, ‘91 Terminator and Beetlejuice pinned on Hot Toys social accounts in 2024!

https://www.sideshow.com/collectibles/dc-comics-batman-20-hot-toys-912970?var=912970 Yeah, the Affleck is so recent it hasn’t yet released. Maul including two sculpts at $285 also kind of proves my point that while $55 may be a fair price for an after-market head, it’s not the going rate for...

Certainly in terms of what it cost to pick up after market, $55 isn’t bad. But is a little steep compared to other releases. I mean this Affleck Batman included both heads for $290.

Jazzinc Dioramas 1/6 Ultimate Catwoman (Batman Returns, 1992)

Yep, I wouldn’t miss that kind of frowny one of the bunch one bit, the other three are so great.

Jazzinc Dioramas 1/6 Ultimate Catwoman (Batman Returns, 1992)

For the clean figure, if we’re getting 3 heads I would want these two and then the tongue-out head (my fave but obviously has limited application).

Jazzinc Dioramas 1/6 Ultimate Catwoman (Batman Returns, 1992)

Ok this looks great, and even the diorama backdrop (which I wasn’t sold on based on the renders) is really working well (however, I don’t think this diorama makes sense to also be included with the battle-damaged figure if that is still the plan). The only complaint I continue to have is that...

Hot Toys 1992 Batman Returns 2.0

Since the glider wings come with the standard release, $55 extra seems just a little steep for the Keaton head, torn cowl and diorama base. Has anyone actually witnessed a torn Returns suit? I see a lot of concern about posing the arms up with the glider causing tearing, but at least on my '89...

Oh wow. This is everything I wanted from the initial Returns release that they dropped the ball on: glider wings and a great Keaton sculpt. Gonna be hard to say no to this!

Hot Toys DX46: Terminator 2: Judgment Day - T-800 (Battle Damaged Version 2.0)

Arguably that could be an aesthetic choice too, right? Like one could either sculpt it to be physically 'accurate' in an idealized sense - OR make it more accurate to the movie prosthetics which had to go over top of Arnold's actual face.
