I just wish this armor was different than the Mark 47. They're virtually identical. The 47 just has silver instead of red. It looks 95% the same, except for the color. Depending on your perspective, one is no more than a repaint of the other.

Exactly. Imagine all the work that went into producing this, only to completely drop the ball at the last second with the paint. Every company does this. They all parade the hand-painted Artist's Proof around the web to drum up interest, and then back at the factory they had the guy a dry...

Paint scheme here is holding up okay, considering the close-ups and the relatively large amount of light on this thing. Better than new pics of Mamegyorai's 1/2 scale head, but not by too much. Also keep in mind, the actual production pieces are often a toss of the dice when it comes to paint apps.

Agreed, the paint looks very unfinished throughout. Compare this to say, the Prime 1 Dog Alien paint job, evidence that a good mass-production paint job CAN be accomplished. Its possible, as we've seen. It would seem to be the Achilles heel of a lot of these companies.

This is astoundingly expensive. I thought the Prime 1 Museum/Action Pose was expensive…I guess I’m just not used to 1:1 scale pieces this large. I bought the Sideshow 1:1 Mark 42 bust back in the day for a grand. Inflation! 😁

They're definitely not designed to appease 100% of collectors. I fall into the camp of enjoying the repaints. Gives a unique look. Its why I have the Hot Toys Stormtrooper in Gold and Porcelain Pattern. Wild and absolutely not canon, but neat looking nonetheless.
