I'm not sure how much of that is actually a hurdle. The likeness issues aren't typically handled separately for a fabricated character and an performed character - Disney (or whoever holds the rights) usually manages that along with everything else. It's possible some actors hold some likeness...

Likeness rights? The license fees and multi-tier approval process are going to still be in place, which is the likeness rights process.

Exactly. It's called "the Bullwinkle Effect". The best "all-ages" media typically contains layers so that multiple generations can experience it through a lens appropriate to them. There is a ton of this in the prequels -a s way of an example. But then people tend to conflate all-ages material...

The toy looks good - as well as it can in a photo taken with poor lighting and the wrong lens. The prototype looks amazing - as one expects from a professional image taken with expensive equipment. Someday people will realize that not all cameras are the same, and no camera will be the same as...

I wouldn't really have minded Arwen, had they not stripped Frodo of one of his character defining moments (turning to face the combined might of the Nazgul) at the river so they could give that bit to her. Watching her cry over Frodo, when we don't even know who she is or why she should care...

LOTR had amazing, next level visuals. But it missed the mark in so many ways with character that I sincerely hoped Jackson and his writers would never go near the property again. Pity.

I’m regards to the accuracy of the sculpt - I didn’t expect the sculpt was meant to be an accurate Hamill, instead being more evocative of Hamill and the art from the comic. Easy buy for me. Lucky I got 300 in line for the artisan.
