Dune Part Two (October 20th, 2023)

Love all of Egger's films. He has a unique style.

Dune Part Two (October 20th, 2023)

I also heard casting rumors after the first film came out, but no confirmation until now. Would have been a nice surprise when I see Part 2 next Sunday. I've been a fan since Queen's Gambit.

Dune Part Two (October 20th, 2023)

I think Villenuve learned from the Lynch version that dubbing a six year old girl to sound like an adult is inherently ridiculous.

Dune Part Two (October 20th, 2023)

Too bad the coverage of the London premier spoiled the surprise casting of . They kept it hidden till now, they should have waited till after March 1st to reveal it publicly.

We gotta get a 1/6 of that!

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

The background is just 2 panels of formica laminate that originally came packed with the Ikea Besta glass doors I have. Panels are white on the other side. Only use them to photograph my figures.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

Yes that's the Sideshow hat. To my eye it has the best size and shape.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

My InArt Gandalf arrived! WOW, I'm really impressed! Here's some comparison shots with my Asmus Gandalf. I was on the fence about keeping the Asmus, but both are great. I'll put the Asmus with my Hobbit figures, and put the InArt with the Fellowship. However, the Sideshow hat is still my...

1/6 Hot Toys - MMS664-D48 - Iron Man - Iron Man Mark 3 (2.0 For Real This Time!)

Finally set up my new Mk III this weekend. Definite upgrade over the previous diecast Mk III, but that twisted waist piece the MMS256 had made for a better "ground-pound landing" pose. The new one can't twist as much, and the waist-hip flaps stick out awkwardly when you put it into that pose.

Flash Point Studio FP-22170B 1/6 Scale Princess Atlantis

I got mine in yesterday. Nice figure, but too petite. Looks like a teenager next to the other JL figures.

    WTB- sideshow gandalf

I have one, only missing the hat and side bag. Beard & hair was also touched up with white paint. All else intact, including the box.

1/6 PLAY TOY P018 Queen (Amidala)

Same here. Unique enough that it made sense to add it to the collection. Curious if Hot Toys will ever do this. They would have to make the headdress doughnut with real hair, and working LED light up orbs along the hem for me to consider buying another version of her in this outfit.

AUGTOYS - 1/6 Dune Action Figures (Licensed)

Part 2 is a few weeks away. Let's hope they and InArt reveal some new figures!

    Asmus Toys : 1/6th Theoden

Revised the rooted hair to thin it out and reduce the volume. Also added hair to the helmeted head.

Flash Point Studio FP-22170B 1/6 Scale Princess Atlantis

Looks like a downgrade from the proto. Not as bad as the Eternal Toys Penguin, but disappointing nevertheless. I hope to see more pics of Version A before I decide to keep my pre-order or cancel. A photo next to the Hot Toys Aquaman will be critical.

    Asmus Toys : 1/6th Theoden

I finally got around to adding hair to a parted out Theoden head I bought awhile back. I had to first build up the missing back of his head with Sculpy, and then glue on the hair. Always fun to breath new life into an old figure in the collection.

Eternal - 1/6th scale Space Exile (Interstellar: Cooper and Mann)

Ugh, Eternal Toys! I wasn't impressed with their Devito Penguin. I'll wait for it to release before I consider buying it.

    Superman (July 11th, 2025)

Interesting article in the New York Times today about Steamboat Willie Mickey Mouse entering public domain as of Jan 1, 2024. The article also mentions that "over the next decade, freedom awaits all of these characters: Popeye; Pluto; Donald Duck; King Kong (the original film version); Superman...
