I'm sure it's just cost. Tooling up another set of unique armor plates costs Hot Toys a lot more than reusing existing molds, and I'd imagine only a tiny fraction of customers will notice or care.

Do the pipe bowl and stand on the original Sideshow v1 Jabba throne come off, or are they permanently on there? It's been a long time, and I genuinely can't remember.

I think it's simpler than that -- it's what it looked like on the show. Even though you could still see some trace of the acid damage in the last episodes, the paint he used on the armor was thick enough to even out most of the surface, an effect that's a lot harder to pull off with toy paint on...

Opened this guy today -- he really is quite nice! The attachment peg for the slashing Darksaber attachment seemed to have had a chunk cut out of it. I'm not sure if it was just a factory goof or an attempt to make the fit less overly tight, but it was still really snug compared to the other two...

I imagine it's accurate to the show, but it's an odd way for the chest panel to have been damaged from (IIRC) having the pommel of a lightsaber handle smashed into it. It looks more slashed.
