Yep, I know! Just confirming that if they tried to replicate it on v2, chances are it was intentional on v1, not a QC issue with your specific figure.

I think that's probably intentional like the small tear on the right sleeve/shoulder -- even on the new version, there's an almost imperceptible bit of wear there like they brushed it with sandpaper for a moment (versus no damage at all on the right arm).

It honestly looks like the old Hasbro 12" figure decos to me -- just a quick spray of "dirt" speckles and some paint blotches for damage. None of the more detailed edge weathering from the shot of the earlier version.

Thanks, both! Those pics really hammer home the quality drop in fabric and weathering, and the arms are a major difference. I don't understand why 1/6 tooling like this even exists nowadays.

Make it three -- I'm usually pretty happy with whatever I get, but this one's a bad situation. My local comic store might still have the original (they did as of a few months ago), so hopefully I may be able to pick it up there without too much of a price hike.

Thanks. Clothing-wise, it appeared to me like the older figures had a visibly finer, thicker material for the shirt section, versus the very thin, rough-weave cotton look on mine. It also seems like the armor shoulderpads are attached with much longer lengths of string, so they dangle a ways...

It's all really peculiar. I'd post photos if I could so people with the original can compare, but I'm not sure what I need to do to qualify to add attachments. Just not enough posts yet?

The deco on the backpack armor, the way the shoulder armor hangs, and the material of the tunic also seem to be very different from what I'm seeing in photos of the original edition. And is he supposed to have a small tear/wear spot on his right sleeve? Because that's gone now, too.

I got the restock a couple of days ago and just opened it to discover the same issue with the elbows -- just went online to see if it had always been like this. It's really disappointing, and significantly hurts the figure. Definitely going to check with Sideshow's customer service in the morning.

A question for those who have this set (and haven't stuck gems over the eyes) -- how do the electronics hold up for you? I just got the Jawa last week, and with both the batteries that came in the box and a pair I borrowed from a BB-8/BB-9E set, the eyes light up fine at first but get dimmer...

For those who use ToysBuyingAgent regularly -- is it worth the savings to wait for the second batch release? I don't really know how long I'd realistically expect to be waiting after everybody else gets their figures, but the price there is compelling. Is it usually a fairly long stretch?

Not that it adds a lot more variation, but he's also back to wearing the left-side kneecap armor that got dropped when he got the beskar.
