    InArt Thorin Oakenshield 1/6 Figure

While I'm not a fan of the writing and direction of the Hobbit trilogy, I did like the design of many of the characters (with a few notable exceptions). I thought Thorin looked pretty badass. Asmus did a terrific job on him, but I'd be happy to pick up InArt's version, too. #Both!

InArt - Harry Potter 1/6 Collectible Figure

Wonder if that's the Richard Harris or Michael Gambon Dumbledore. Spooky timing as Gambon just passed today. RIP.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

Based on that Gandalf pic, I'm more concerned about paint than eyes. I know there's a drop-off between proto and production with every figure -- that's just how it works -- but the skin tones and textures on Gandalf are looking pretty flat there when compared to the proto. Hoping it's just the...

Man, I LOVE how they pack the head in that Futurama-style tube.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn 1:6

I'm in no hurry to replace Asmus' excellent Gimli, but I can't promise I won't buy another one if InArt makes him. I'm a man who has an entire shelf of Gandalves at this point! :lol

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn 1:6

I'm not an enormous fan of the character, but will definitely buy one. Especially if they get the braiding right.

Asmus Toys Lord of the Ring Gandalf Gray

I've never noticed the floral motif along the cuffs of the pants on screen but it's been on a lot of products going all the way back to the Sideshow 1/6 figure almost 20 years ago. That was the first place I noticed it. It's not a make or break detail for me either way, but I think it's a cool...

💯 Definitely a good time to be a Gandalf fan.

Sure. And there were custom lightsaber folks. But now we're talking regular production figures. I find it impressive is all.

And that's bananas, right? It really is amazing the kind of leaps we've seen in the hobby because of LEDs. 15 years ago, this kind of thing was unthinkable. Hell, 10 years ago. Not to mention 3D modeling and printing. Bananas. Where are we going to be in another 10?

    Asmus - 1/6 Gollum/Smeagol

Which reminds me ... I need to contact them and set up my replacements. Grr.

    Asmus - 1/6 Gollum/Smeagol

I thought the only parts that were fading were the flexible ones (arms and straight legs). Looking at my G/S set, it's the bendy vinyl-ish bits that are fading. The crouching legs are hard plastic and haven't faded at all. Maybe that's why?

Asmus Toys Lord of the Ring Gandalf Gray

I think the Asmus GtG with the new head looks fantastic. Is it better or worse than the InArt? Doesn't matter to me. It's awesome whichever way you want to go. I'm not taking sides (mostly because I'm getting them both) but also because having two amazing looking Gandalfs (Gandalves?) on the...

There are stars on the bellies of MY 1/6 sneetches.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn 1:6

Glad to help! Even if I don't have any first-hand info on this particular situation. I hate that the industry can be such a black box for customers. But that's just legal departments doing their jobs, I guess. :duff

Technically, it would depend on the terms of their contract. Could be different for everybody. But most times, you just want to keep the talent happy, so if they don't like something, you do what you can to get it tweaked and don't get too pedantic about the contractual details. Sometimes...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn 1:6

Both things can be (and probably are) true. I'm just saying these collectibles companies need a whole series of approvals from the licensing teams at the studios, before, during and after they develop their figures. Likeness, outfits, packaging, pricetags, etc. -- dozens of boxes to check. In...

Delays may not be strike related. WBD is going through constant re-orgs and layoffs. I believe their marketing team may currently be ... reconstituting.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn 1:6

Back in the early 2000s - maybe 20 years ago? - the Sideshow 1/6 Aragorn was my very first 1/6 scale action figure. It was the beginning of a very obsessive and probably unhealthy fixation. Hundreds of figures later, I'm still at it. It's taken decades and half a dozen different companies...

Yeah, that hair sculpt on Aragorn is outstanding. Best hair sculpt I've ever seen. In my view, you can't lose either way.
