InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

Yeah, we members of Club 96000 gotta be super close, since not all those orders are for Gandalf. There have to be a bunch of Aragorn orders mixed in there that will get skipped over until he's ready to ship. (My Aragorn number is lower than my Gandalf.) So we gotta be SO close now ...

I like to think IA is doing this to help me with budgeting, since I seem resolutely incapable of doing so myself! :lol

Gotta stay hydrated. Even if you're only a foot tall.

Man, I feel this in my bones. I really need to purge at least a big chunk of this collection, but the idea of it is SO overwhelming. I've had a bunch of different collections over the years and gone through cycles of collecting and purging. But as I got older, the collectibles have gotten...

His silver scarf was part of his outfit in The Hobbit. Tolkien specifically mentions it. (It's featured prominently in his outfit when he shows up at Bag End in the first Hobbit movie.) I bet it's inclusion in FotR was probably an Easter egg by Jackson and the costume department.

    Questions for Asmus

I'm still wondering if there's anybody home at Warner Bros./New Line/DC merchandising anymore. That company has been in a constant churn of mergers and layoffs for the last five or six years. I wonder if their licensing people in the legal department are even there anymore. Or if they are, if...

I have zero insight into their business, but my wild, completely unsourced speculation is that Gandalf proved a lot more time-consuming to produce and a lot more popular than they expected. I will bet that their initial estimates for production numbers were revised upward considerably once...

I wish I could fully internalize this idea. I could save a LOT of money!

I think it's easy to get fooled because Wood's actual complexion is so porcelain that he himself doesn't actually seem real. :lol

I fully expect their Frodo to be outstanding, but that's just a pic of Elijah Wood. Even IA can't do perfectly scaled eyelashes. :lol

Oh, my god, you're right. I just had to replace our dishwasher this month and had to drop around $700 on it. It really stung. But I didn't even blink when I pre-ordered this figure. My brain isn't okay.

Those legs ... he's got a little anime girl going on with his proportions ...

Very curious to see this guy. Didn't have the room or the budget to take the flier on him, but very curious to see what you guys think.

The sculpt of the hair really is terrific on this figure. A lot of companies don't seem to spend the time on the hair sculpts that they do on the faces, but a hair sculpt that's off can totally wreck a likeness. I will always contend that Asmus' very first Aragorn had a very good face sculpt...

:lol Damn our broken brains! I'm perpetually on my next last figure. As Mark Twain once said about habits: “Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world. I know because I've done it thousands of times.”
