InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

Wonder what house he'll get sorted into.

Asmus Toys Lord of the Ring Gandalf Gray

I've definitely been frustrated with some of Asmus' fumbles, but I'm still onboard. For the simple reason that while they sometimes have baffling QC issues, nobody else is doing a Middle-Earth line with this depth. Is InArt showing a terrific Gandalf? Yes. (Though I'm also really impressed...

Asmus - Gandalf the White - Crown Line

Such a great release, top to bottom.

Asmus Toys Lord of the Ring Gandalf Gray

I think I'd like another one for my GtG 1.0, but I'm gonna wait till other folks get their chance before I shove my way back up to the buffet for seconds. :lol Get in there, you guys!

Asmus Toys Lord of the Ring Gandalf Gray

From certain angles, when the eyes black out, the old sculpt always reminds me of the wizard from Krull when he turns evil.

Asmus Toys Lord of the Ring Gandalf Gray

I love how this pic makes it look like he's sitting at the kitchen table. :lol Excellent shots!

Asmus Toys Lord of the Ring Gandalf Gray

Yeah, the years of the Covid shipping clusterfunk aside, Asmus ships pretty quick!

I love the way they pack the head. The little protective fish tank chamber is brilliant. So many figures with great rooted hair get all mushed up once they shove a plastic bag over their heads and jam them into a box. This is such a great (and simple) extra step to make sure your figure still...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

Whoa! That is cooler than I thought it would be! This should be the standard!

I'd personally like to see a stand system where, instead of a crotch cradle or waist grabber, there's a rod (possibly flexible, possibly clear) with a magnet on the end that sticks to a magnet in the figure's midsection/back. I'm sure that's something somebody must already be making, but I...

Asmus Toys Lord of the Ring Gandalf Gray

I'm extremely happy with my replacement head! AND I'm getting the InArt figure. You can enjoy both! It's possible! We're living in an age of great Gandalfs! (Gandalves?) Either way, I hope people are enjoying whatever they collect!

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

This looks great. I actually really enjoy both my Asmus Crown Gandalfs (especially with the new upgraded Grey head), but I will be proud to add this guy to the shelves, too. (And I'm REALLY looking forward to Aragorn. That sculpt is bananas.) Here's a question for you ... Since the early...

Dragon Toy - The Dark Ruler 1/6 Scale

That price is making this very hard to ignore. But I'm trying very hard to stay strong ...

Dragon Toy - The Dark Ruler 1/6 Scale

Yeah, if you're looking for absolute scientific certainty, the movies can be pretty slippery. The filmmakers used so many different tricks to scale the characters that things are inconsistent to say the least. From shot to shot you might go from a full CG double, to forced perspective, to...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

Curious how the magnetic mechanism was intended to work. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of moveable eyes as it's an awful lot of engineering for a feature I tend not to use much. But I love that companies are still trying to crack the code on that feature. Shows they're trying to innovate.

Asmus Toys Lord of the Ring Gandalf Gray

LOVE the new head. That GtW sculpt is a huge upgrade. And it's a great hairing job. I know this is how the figure should have looked upon release (and shouldn't have needed upgrades to the hat and head), but I'm very happy with where my figure is now. I appreciate that Asmus offers...

Asmus Toys Lord of the Ring Gandalf Gray

Makes total sense. Do them in batches of a couple dozen at a time. Probably also works schedule-wise -- doing these short runs might fit in between production runs of other figures,

Got one! Thanks for the heads up. I always forget they're a day ahead of the US.
