It is definetly one of the best sequels overall especially when you look at how long between movies. Story felt like a real continuation to the original of the 80's. I wish all movies had the same care but such is life. Maverick will probably be the best overall movie for a couple years to come out.

Just rewatched this in 4K yesterday and movie is an all time classic for me. Dennehy is great as the Sheriff and of course Stallone as Rambo set the tone for the sequels to come. Rambo 4 is the only sequel I care to revisit after this one.

I still prefer physical media to streaming. The Batman and Escape From New York are latest 4K pick ups for me and are reference quality in video and sound.

Yes different characters who happened to fly. I prefer the Gyro Captain to Jedediah but I am not really a fan of Thunderdome, especially after The Road Warrior. Thunderdome is the Return of the Jedi to Road Warrior's Empire Strikes Back.
