InArt - The Batman 1/6th Figure

Couldn't agree more. That HT cowl is so unflattering.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

It would be very hard to turn down Arwen, I must admit. I've always been a sucker for pairs, so Aragorn/Arwen, Legolas/Gimli, and Gandalf/Frodo would be quite a strong display.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn 1:6

I'm shocked there are still Premiums up on OSK. It's really not helping my attempt to be content with my Standard...

InArt - The Batman 1/6th Figure

I don't know... Batfleck moved the most like a comic accurate Batman, but I've never liked the brick sh*thouse body type for Bats -- and yes, I'll be the Debbie Downer and say that the excessive violence (and murder) takes me out of it. I'm still waiting all these years later to see a...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

See, my problem is that I definitely want the Three Hunters... That makes Gandalf the odd man out, so let's give him a Frodo like you suggest... But man, I can't have Frodo without Sam... Ah hell, might as well finish the whole Fellowship at that point. 🤣

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn 1:6

Mm, I'm awfully tempted. I've got the Batman invoice coming any day now, though...

Hot Toys The Dark Knight Joker DX/Artisan 1/6 Scale Figure

Same. I think there are some poses that are complimented by the tongue, but the teeth are more versatile and I wouldn't want to damage the hair swapping back and forth too often.

Hot Toys The Dark Knight Joker DX/Artisan 1/6 Scale Figure

Again, I just think we have fundamentally different views on the value proposition. You could say, "There will be a better version in 5 years," and all I'm hearing is that I can get 5 years of enjoyment out of the current version. I don't agree with the idea that there is a perfect, eternal...

Hot Toys The Dark Knight Joker DX/Artisan 1/6 Scale Figure

Sure, but my rebuttal would be two-fold: 1. As someone with a lesser eye for the little details, I don't feel much compulsion to upgrade once I've found something that fits my personal standard. For instance, I've looked at the JND pictures, and I just don't see myself wishing I had that...

Hot Toys The Dark Knight Joker DX/Artisan 1/6 Scale Figure

This is where my philosophy just differs from many on here. In the realm of miniature painting, a common phrase is "tabletop standard" -- the idea that a paint job only needs to hold up at a distance of 3-5 feet, because that's the distance at which you'll most commonly be viewing the minis...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

If you didn't take it seriously, you wouldn't be in Hot Toys threads saying, "Actually, they got the size of the buttons wrong. InArt is still better." I don't think it's a mis-characterization at all to say that you're one of InArt's staunchest defenders here. That's neither a good thing or a...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

"It's pretty easy to understand what I mean, honey. I wasn't saying that you looked bad in those jeans. Just that the other girl looked better." Some things are dumb to say. The relative importance (or lack thereof) doesn't make it any less dumb. It's a mistake to present your product as higher...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

"Not as bad as" is still bad, whatever couching or apologizing you want to do. InArt is charging nearly $500 for Legolas (more for most of us who have to buy secondhand), and then turning around and calling it "standard" and implying it's their lowest grade. For that kind of money, why shouldn't...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

Well yes, it's not a one-to-one comparison, but I hoped I didn't need to actually spell that out. Rather, I'm pointing out that they've adopted a similar structure to the competition. There's the basic line (MMS), the deluxe line (DX), and the premium line (AE).

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

I get what they're saying, I guess. Ag is the equivalent of a standard HT, Pt is their version of a DX, and Rh is essentially Artisan... but yeah, the pricing makes absolutely no sense if that's how they conceptualize it.

Alright, I'll start the count, guys. ✋🏻 1.

Hot Toys The Dark Knight Joker DX/Artisan 1/6 Scale Figure

With the exclusivity being a marketing point for the Artisan line -- and at least implicitly a reason for the elevated prices -- that would be such a shady move and just give ammunition to folks who already feel HT has done them wrong... which is exactly why I believe they'd do it, tbh. I can't...

Hot Toys The Dark Knight Joker DX/Artisan 1/6 Scale Figure

This had kind of fallen off my radar, honestly, as all Hot Toys do in that interminable gap between announcement and release, but I'm back to being very excited to get this in-hand. I held off on picking up a DX11 for so long in anticipation of a new Joker. It's time to finally bring him home.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn 1:6

If I were a richer man -- and had more room for display -- I'd absolutely grab a second one to customize for the Amon Hen look.

The sculpted is incredible, and no one should be disappointed in it... but man am I glad I snagged the Artisan. It's a beauty. Thanks for showing it off!
