InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

Still haven't ordered this one yet, and it's looking increasingly less likely that I will. Maybe if I had Aragorn, I'd be more inclined; right now I'm looking at $700+ (at best) for him, $550 for Legolas, and at least that much (and very likely much more) for a future Gimli if he comes... that's...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

Oh, absolutely. I'm under no illusions that this won't sell out. Just pointing out a troubling trend where all discussion of flaws in InArt prototypes gets handwaved with, "They'll fix it." And yeah, maybe they will; they have before. But maybe they won't; they also haven't before. At a certain...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

Honestly, I just don't love banking on the "They'll fix it later" strategy, anyway. Promo pics exist for a reason; they're there to advertise what you can reasonably expect to receive. That's the only concrete information we really have when making preorders, so that's gonna be what I use to...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Nazgul 1:6

A Bag End diorama would look pretty choice with Frodo & Gandalf sharing a shelf, just saying...

Hot Toys: The Suicide Squad: Harley Quinn (Artisan Edition)

I don't know that it's that cut-and-dry. For instance, TDK Joker was $515 while the Imposter Version that's just a reused sculpt and repainted body was only $445. I don't think Hot Toys looks at it like, "This version of the character cost this much, so all future versions must cost the same or...

Hot Toys Wonder Woman (WB 100)

Yeah, I would even categorize it as a flawless figure if it had that. Even straight-on painted eyes would be less restrictive... Still remains one of my top figures in spite of that obvious omission.

Ya gotta go with the ol' folded piece of paper trick there. Get it solid enough to hold the figure's weight while still being thin enough to slid through the crack of the door... Not that I'm speaking from experience, of course.

Hot Toys: The Suicide Squad: Harley Quinn (Artisan Edition)

I would've been salivating over an Artisan 2016, but at least this way mine didn't lose (all) its value. :ROFLMAO:

Hot Toys: The Suicide Squad: Harley Quinn (Artisan Edition)

I can see both sides of it. Yes, having limited runs is obviously a marketing strategy; I'm not so naive as to ignore that. By the same token, we've seen what mass-produced rooting has looked like in the past, so I'm inclined to believe that limited runs are the only way HT can reasonably...

Hot Toys: The Suicide Squad: Harley Quinn (Artisan Edition)

Maybe InArt has just ruined my perception, but I don't get all the comments on price for this, tbh. It's right in line with other Artisan releases: Wonder Woman (WB100) - $400 (not technically Artisan, but the first to use wool hair) Joker (TDK) - $515 Joker (Phoenix) - $460 Jack Sparrow - $495...

If you get on the waitlist today, your odds are probably still pretty good.

Hot Toys: The Suicide Squad: Harley Quinn (Artisan Edition)

It's not an error. It's saying that all unsold units are sitting in other people's carts. It's not "sold out" because they haven't completed their purchase, but there are no unclaimed figures left unless one of those people puts one back.

Hot Toys: The Suicide Squad: Harley Quinn (Artisan Edition)

Sideshow reserves items when they're in the cart (for an indeterminate amount of time... possibly indefinitely?). Anyway, the upshot is that Harley isn't "sold out" until those folks complete checkout, but there's no stock left on the metaphorical shelf unless one of them drops her.

Hot Toys: The Suicide Squad: Harley Quinn (Artisan Edition)

Why not? Again, half as many units as Black Widow, same number of units as Anakin, a costume that a lot of people wanted (even if they waited way too long to make it), a character that a lot of people wanted to see as an Artisan release... I don't know why so many people are doubting that this...

They always say if you're undecided, flip a coin and you'll know what you really want when it's in the air... That's how I felt when the cart timed out on me. Knew I was serious about grabbing her then.

Well, that was excruciating, but I finally got there. 🥵

Somebody forgot to hit the queue button, and now Sideshow's servers are toast...

"Among" is definitely doing the heavy lifting in "among the first to know."

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

Just because they have the time doesn't mean they'll use it. Aragorn and Superman had inaccuracies that folks pointed out which still made it to the final product. For the price point, they either need to nail the prototypes or show a better commitment to making improvements, IMO.
