InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

I wasn't using the link, though that probably would've saved me a few seconds. I just had the OSK search page for "InArt" pulled up.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

Well, I will say that the excess traffic crashed the site pretty bad, so I wasn't able to see the listing until maybe... 8:14? And even then, it sold out in the time it took me to get it in the cart and start doing the PayPal checkout. I appreciate Kit announcing the time, but for the health of...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

8am EDT today. He said he's planning to post a few units each day until he's completely out, but I don't know if each drop will be the same time/be announced in advance.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

Nearly had one during today's OSK drop, just fell out of the cart in the last moments of checkout. It's safe to say I'm all in now. I've completely talked myself into this figure and won't stop until I get a deal. 🤣

InArt - The Batman 1/6th Figure

FWIW, this figure looks really sharp without the cape and cowl, and I'm excited to display him like that at least some of the time. It's the one reason I almost wish I had gotten the rooted, although saving money on that means I need to feel less bad about spending on other figures.

InArt - The Batman 1/6th Figure

I thought this surely had to be an exaggeration. Lo and behold, you're not joking: $379 retail for the "Deluxe." Goodness gracious.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

Honestly, if InArt would just transition to including wrist pegs for each hand, they'd already be a step above Hot Toys.

InArt - The Batman 1/6th Figure

Agreed. I like it a little more each time I watch it, and I already liked it quite a bit from the jump. It still didn't help me figure out this cape thing. I swear its length changes from scene to scene. I've resolved not to let it bother me, particularly since my personal preference is to miss...

I'm glad I'm not the only dork who did this. Haha.

I would think the only potential problem with the hat is if you're constantly alternating between hat and no hat, reshaping the hair each time. In other words, I don't see the hat itself causing issues so much as excessive handling might.

Note to self: no more sleeping. Gotta stay up for OSK drops. 😂

1/6 Hot Toys - The Flash - The Flash (Young Barry) Collectible Figure

Oh, to be clear, I'm not talking about folks who wait for final release to make their decision. I'm talking about everyone who has an active preorder for any figure. The security of knowing "I've given Hot Toys money, I will get my figure" is officially gone.

Hot Toys - The Flash: Young Barry

Bingo. Folks are reading way too much into the waitlist these days. Sideshow learned a painful lesson with all the incredibly overproduced HT figures that will warm their shelves until the heat death of the universe: Captain Marvel, Stealth Suit Spider-Man, basically the entirety of the Endgame...

1/6 Hot Toys - The Flash - The Flash (Young Barry) Collectible Figure

Yikes. I wasn't in on either of these figures, but that's a troubling precedent to set. Gone are the days of "If it's up for preorder, it's coming out." Now if you find yourself wanting a less popular figure, you've gotta hold your breath until blogger photos...

    1/6 Hot Toys - CMS016D58 Doctor Aphra (Marvel Comic): 0-0-0 (Triple-Zero)

Whew. I know this is a less in-demand figure, but limiting him to 2K units (less than Artisan Anakin) when BT-1 is a regular release feels real scummy. Either they both should've been exclusive, or neither should have been.

InArt - The Batman 1/6th Figure

InArt's proportions are a little exaggerated -- I don't think Battinson's waist was ever that tapered -- but calling it cartoonish and saying HT is "perfect" is a bridge too far. The neck and shoulder area for HT is so... flat. It just looks like a stock body (because it is).

InArt - The Batman 1/6th Figure

Brother, have you watched Justin's videos before? These companies could send him an opened, damaged Hasbro Legends figure, and his review would still be like: "Here he is, standing straight up and down in the lightbox, and guys? I think he looks absolutely een-credible! Hot Toys really nailed...

InArt - The Batman 1/6th Figure

Yeah, I dunno. I just finished Justin's video, and I cannot fathom how people see a better likeness in the HT cowl. I don't think InArt is a 10/10, but it's closer than HT, IMO. I'll repeat the usual refrain: both are great releases, everyone should be happy with the one they've got, but for me...

InArt - The Batman 1/6th Figure

Agreed. From the few shots I've seen, InArt's sculpted hair looks more detailed than HT, but there just haven't been a ton of looks at it. Where's the love for us peasants? 🤣

InArt - The Batman 1/6th Figure

I will say that even though I'm not jazzed at the idea of paying more for a custom cape -- that should've been an advantage InArt had over HT -- I would've been tempted by a really solid drape cape, anyway. I'm not a great futzer, so having something that just looks fantastic in a standing pose...
