No, but we know what Disney's relationship is with other businesses in general and their general modus operandi over the years. It's not a secret - it's a matter of historical record. Disney is about as dirty as it gets.
When the cookie jar is empty and Little Johnny McCookies has a...
Yes, this is what I'm saying.
Selling a bunch of Disney and a little non-Disney will of course be more profitable than selling a bunch of non-Disney and selling ZERO Disney. Keep in mind that Disney isn't just Marvel - it's also Star Wars.
That's why when the Mouse puts the squeeze on, Hot...
The reason Marvel is a high selling line is because Hot Toys went to the effort to try and make it a high selling line. By releasing many figures, they inspire collectors to "complete their collection" and get the whole set. This drives interest, in a feedback loop, which drives further...
no i would say it if it wasn't for Adam West and Burt Ward making their TV show and making Batman a super-popular, enduring pop icon, Burton and Nolan would never have made Batman.
no i would say if it wasn't for Bob Kane and Bill Finger making their Batman comic books, West and Burton and...
I don't think it has anything to do with likeness. In the past several years, there have been officially licensed products with the likeness of both Devito and Pfeiffer from "Batman Returns."
Hot Toys didn't make them for other reasons altogether. I suspect Disney has something to do with it.
It's not like there's a whole lot of traffic on these boards these days, so I don't know why Jokes & Bats cares so much.
I welcome any activity, and the pics were nice.
If you have a bit of patience, the cost in tools and materials to fix your broken knee is going to be about the same as a new Truetype body. If you have multiple broken bodies, you can save a lot of money by jut fixing your old ones instead.
This was really common with bodies from that period of release (Bank Robber Joker, Two-Face, etc.). I've had to fashion artificial knee joint replacements for at least a half dozen such figures. The plastic in those joints was brittle and would decay after a few years.
You're right, he has no integrity. He never did - not as Harvey Dent nor as Two-Face in the film. Nor did he in the comics - either as Harvey or as Two-Face.
Harvey Dent was always breaking the rules. He was full of himself and a bit of a scumbag - he just hid it well from the other...
What a nice surprise. Not necessarily the figure I would've wanted - but seeing anything from Hot Toys related to the Nolan Trilogy in 1/6 is always welcome.
Like others have said, the greatest improvement is probably going to be the tailoring. Is that worth buying a brand new figure? I...
DX01 was the first Hot Toys figure to use the "Narrow-Shouldered Truetype" body. You can look for one of those.
I'm sure there are plenty of other non-Hot Toys compatible bodies.
Best to ask on the DX01 thread, you'll find more expertise there.
If I recall correctly, it would require minor surgery - perhaps some unscrewing, but no cutting or part fabrication (which is generally necessary for fixing busted knees).
I think the upper torso sits on a ball joint of the lower torso. So you just need to make that ball a bit thicker - either...
That's an old figure. Back in the day, it was the standard "Hot Toys Truetype body," not any kind of specialized one (the narrow-shouldered body wouldn't be introduced until DX01, I think).
I never had that figure myself, so I don't know the skin tone - possibly Asian (the first Bank Robber...
Wow, what a cheapass. With the money he spent on shipping, he could nearly cover a replacement body (which is what I would have done). The damage to his reputation is going to be an even heftier price.
Re: Fire Toys Catwoman
Yeah, I'm glad you posted this. I'll probably pick one up as well - I'm concerned about flaking on my Hot Toys Catwoman.
It's not that I don't trust Fire Toys, but overseas sellers are the one's you're giving your money to - make sure you're protected (pre-orders aren't).
Re: Fire Toys Catwoman
There is nothing misleading about the thread title (unless it was altered in the meantime). I, too, would like "Batman Returns" Catwoman, but that doesn't mean every thread title with "Catwoman" in it is suddenly "misleading" simply because it's not the Catwoman I want...
