Hmmmm, more convincing than Furiosa's CGI eh.

So is my eyesight, if the CGI didn't bother me.

I keep forgetting the appeal of the MM universe is limited to Aussie males and members of this forum (or both).

Miller's not getting any younger, maybe he's in a hurry to get this and The Wasteland out. Also, I guess the Hemsworth/Taylor-Joy star power isn't enough.

That’s a relief, was beginning to think I was in the minority. I might not have liked him as much if he was more recognisable. The voice helped (even if some found it hard to decipher).

(Hopefully not coming off too low a base...)

I missed that, and evidently most of the CGI. Maybe I shoulda worn my glasses.

Speaking of Thunderdome, it’s the one film of the OT that most resembles the new ones. It’s like a bridge between the old and the new. No doubt budget has played a part, but there’s been a definite evolution in Miller’s world building. The downside is there's now more dune buggies and less...

Just be thankful Miller didn’t do a Doctor Who. Max is still out there… somewhere. Yeah my preview screening was only half full. 😱

This Miller quote from back when FR was released has been doing the rounds... All of the films have no strict chronology. [Mad Max: Fury Road is] probably after Thunderdome, but it’s an ‘episode’ in the life of Max and this world. It’s basically an episode, and it’s us revisiting that world. I...

I guess all we need to know if they're all the same timeline and dates and times no longer matter. Also I hadn't noticed before but in the comics they made OT Max look like Hardy (though he still resembles Gibson in places).

Sorry, I meant did that specific line appear. Cos I can't see it in screencaps.

Thanks, it’s been a few years

Alas yes. It was originally conceived as a straight sequel to BT but events (and Gibson himself) derailed George's best-laid plans.

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

This may be closest to the truth. Being obsessive-compulsive about such things I just reached out to the comic scripter and even he didn't have any specific dates or timeline in mind. He deferred to George's "a few years from now" explanation. The maddening thing is, the films themselves make...

That's Glory, who Max tried (and failed) to save along with her mother. She appears in the MM video game and, yes, one of the FR prequel comics. :chase https://madmax.fandom.com/wiki/Glory_the_Child

At this point I think we have to disregard any date references from the OT. I know da funnybooks aren't popular but they were written by Miller so provide further clues.
  18. Prime Clone

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

This approximate timeline was posted on Reddit by someone whose maths is probably better than mine: 2015: Oil Wars 2016: Water Wars 2019: Mad Max 2020: Nukes 2027: The Road Warrior 2043: Beyond Thunderdome 2047: Furiosa 2063: Fury Road (It should be noted Furiosa takes place *across*...

Also top marks to Hemsy, between the nose, beard and voice he's totally unrecognisable (aside from the annoyingly buff torso!)
