  1. Prime Clone

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

A key to nutting it out will be how long Furiosa is Imperator for - it's not really clear in the film, but there may be references elsewhere.
  2. Prime Clone

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

As mentioned a coupla pages back, the modern Max movies are like a soft reboot. Miller confirms they're part of the same timeline as the OT but he's taken liberties. And FR does happen after BT. As for my take on Furiosa, I know my taste is questionable (being a fan of the PT, Snyderverse...

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

Less than 24 hours for meeee (sorry had to brag)
  4. Prime Clone

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

I've also been googling the timeline. The OT was set in the late 20th century and FR in the mid 21st. So for them all to fit you'd have to ignore any date references in the OT and bring it into the 21st. (Miller has confirmed all the films are still part of the same universe, though the...
  5. Prime Clone

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

Miller seems to be doing a "soft reboot" of the MM universe. The OT still stands, but I think he's giving it an alternative back story and showing how the post-apocalyptic communities sprang up. Also, I think it's as much about water now as it is about guzzoline (if not more).

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

BTW I thought Hemsy's prosthetic nose made him look like Lachy Hulme, who coincidentally plays his rival in the film. Maybe it's a sign of power.
  7. Prime Clone

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

George, like George, likes doing different things. Even when it means doing the same thing! Probably, since as noted previously Max and Furiosa's back stories were written before FR. (Now all we need to know is if they rhyme!)

Hence the nickname Olivia Neutron Bomb

Star Wars Saga (OT/PT/ST) Discussion Thread

It's actually heartening TPM can stand on its own as the saga opener, without needing to rely on we the OT generation.

That was the main criticism at the time.
  12. Prime Clone

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

Also, if not mentioned already, Miller's first preference for Furiosa was a de-aged Theron. But unlike LFL he didn't think the tech was there yet. ;)
  13. Prime Clone

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

I also just remembered Patrick Stewart saying Hardy was extremely anti-social and kept to himself while filming ST X.
  14. Prime Clone

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

Don't forget the dingoes, crocs and snakes! Danger, danger, danger! Fifteen years actually. And the back stories have already been published in comic form, be interesting to see how similar they are to the movies. She was always first on the set and he was always last. And it deteriorated...

Star Wars Saga (OT/PT/ST) Discussion Thread

I attended both OT and PT marathons over the weekend. Probably shouldn't be surprised but the PT crowd was slightly larger and much more vocal, for both the bad bits (AOTC dialogue) and good bits (ROTS). In fact the opening crawl of ROTS elicited a cheer, as did Obi-Wan's "hello there" line...
  16. Prime Clone

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

I have an issue with the title. MM is the "saga", Furiosa is a "story" (like RO and Solo).
  17. Prime Clone

1/6 Hot Toys Luke Skywalker - Dark Empire (Legends)

Not so long ago this would have been a grail item for me. The de-canonization of the EU shouldn't have changed my tastes but it has. 🤷‍♂️

Star Wars Saga (OT/PT/ST) Discussion Thread

I wish that on no-one as you'd never be able to experience the original release (and all the SW-inspired cinema & TV that followed). Imagine thinking Can't Stop the Music was the best movie ever made. That was me for about two months until ESB's local release (somehow I'd forgot ANH).
