    Dark Toys 1/6 Rick Deckard

Upgraded newspaper shot. Airbrushed the newspaper with a very thin black wash to take the edge off the whiteness off the paper.

1/6 SooSooToys - SST032 - Watchmen - The Punchline (The Comedian) Collectible Figure

I know this is the Comedians's thread but thought this was relevant to the current conversation. This was posted by the Admin in SooSoo Fans on Facebook yesterday:

Thanks everyone! I gave up counting how many repaints I'd done once I got past 10, but each previous one had the same characteristic of making him look too old. It wasn't til I really paid attention to his age (in photos from that period, not necessarily during production) that I realised how...

    Dark Toys 1/6 Rick Deckard

Thanks, Asta! I doubted my skills many, many times during this paint job. I'm 50 this year and I think it's good to be humbled by a project every so often that shows you just how much more you've got learn. I replaced the second image with a less harshly lit one, it showed off the paint but...

    Dark Toys 1/6 Rick Deckard

I was going to post on here when it happened, but was too crestfallen and didn't want to post until there was a positive result. Soon after my last post I was photographing Deckard outside under some natural light, and in my sheer idiocy he fell over, landing face first on concrete, chipping his...

    Dark Toys 1/6 Rick Deckard

Thanks, Rogerbee! Yeah, I've done tonnes of likenesses over the years in this scale but this is the one I've always wanted the most, so I'm trying to do my absolute best to get it to where I want it. I've a feeling it's why the sculpting of Ford's likeness is such a hard job to begin with but...

Still working on this.. my portrait repaints are in double figures now, but getting to the point where I think I've worked it out. The learning experience has been worth all the effort as doing realistic skin texture variations is now something I can do reasonably well by airbrush, which reduces...

    NOOZOOTOYS Lannister soldier Sergeant/Nobleman

I've now got no excuse not to pick up that Jaqen H'ghar sculpt!! Or, as Macklin said a victorious Tywin option with minimal effort.

    Xensation Game of Thrones

Scored a Davos reasonably cheap and did some work on his beard/hair, clothing and belts. Very happy to have him in my GoT line up!

Present Toys SP22 1/6 Scale Killer Mike (Ehrmantraut)

Third Party Reviews has a video up. Breaking Bad Present Toys Killer mike 1/6 Scale Figure Unboxing and Review I'm still on the fence about this figure. Not because of the quality or anything, it looks good; even if they cheaped out on the clothing details but more about whether I 'need' Mike...

Ahh good to hear. Are the hands a step up from the ones that come with this one? They're pretty poor.. rough and not well scaled.

    Dark Toys 1/6 Rick Deckard

I was planning on doing so but haven't yet. I'm not really happy with the hands that came with it, but the articulation isn't that concerning to me based on anything I'm planning on displaying. The Coomodel BD002 Narrow Shoulder body is the one I'll probably go for, mainly cause it's available...

    Dark Toys 1/6 Rick Deckard

Ahh I took then inner ring out, then sliced about 4mm off the base of the neck, cut a section out of the ring to reduce the size then pop the ring back in. You've then got to reduce the size of the connecting piece that goes inside so that it holds but doesn't stretch out the neck. Then heat up...

    Dark Toys 1/6 Rick Deckard

I think I'm near the end of this customising odyssey. From the top down the only thing I haven't changed/customised/painted is the sports jacket and the badge (which I may make a more accurate bi-fold later on). Really happy this figure exists and for all the work its been, I look at it and love...

    Present Toys "Raider Jones" figure

Not that Sugo seems to know anything more than anyone else, but my preorder says June is the expected date. I have no idea if that was recently changed or is just a placeholder, mind.

Today's work: Got the front outer coat buttons re-sewn with invisible thread First pass wetting/staining of outer coat. Used some adhesive fabric tape for some socks Filled in gap/notch of the shoes with epoxy putty, sanded and repainted (this makes them close enough to the Stan Smith originals...

    Dark Toys 1/6 Rick Deckard

Doing some work on the jacket and shirt today and found something I don't think has been reported yet. The apparent lack of fasteners on the shirt is because there's actually magnets in both sides. The problem is, (on mine anyway) that the magnets weren't fixed in place and have moved out of...

    Dark Toys 1/6 Rick Deckard

Thanks Rogerbee! Yeah, this is the big test with painting this sculpt, I always try to paint for broad daylight and then the accuracy under other lighting should work. This is what I see in my living room's crappy light, which isn't unlike something from the movie as far as dimness goes anyway...

    Dark Toys 1/6 Rick Deckard

Three repaints later I'm getting happier with this. Crop This is a really difficult paint job to get right for the context of the movie.. too much dirt/beard/'character' you lose Deckard and Indiana Jones comes out. Too little and it looks far too clean for the movie. Another thing I only...
