1:6 Darth Vader 3D Laser Scan & Print Project

Went through my models and found there are more that needs fixing than I thought. 16 in total needing from minor to major repairs. It is going to take some serious effort. And I curse at myself as I could and should have done all this work months ago. Starting with all the ANH stuff first, so...

1:6 Darth Vader 3D Laser Scan & Print Project

This pictures doesn't show the amount of work I had to put into this to get it done. But thought I'd share it anyway.

1:6 Darth Vader 3D Laser Scan & Print Project

I was checking out a company selling protective masks, as the one I had wasn't sealed so couldn't be used for what I needed it for, but the place didn't sell to anything but companies, so that was a bust. There's another place in town, but I haven't been able to go there to see if they can help...

Added a 3D scanner. And removed sold items.

    Prime 1/Blitzway - Terminator 2 T-800 endoskeleton 1/3

Yes. Same here. The PT figures are expensive... and there's no way I'd be able to afford one of their limited runs. But they are still getting the look right. It bothers me that a company like Prime1 who charge so much for their stuff cannot.

Oniri Créations: The Terminator (Schwarzenegger) 1:4

That face sculpt looks great. But the presenter needs to back a bit away from the camera and stop using that weird filter to smooth his face. Looks weird.

    Prime 1/Blitzway - Terminator 2 T-800 endoskeleton 1/3

The way they made the upper eye socket edges droop makes it look sad. Giving it the proper upwards curve will make it look angry when it tilts the head down and eyes look up in that familiar scowl. The PT Studios 1:6 scale endoskeleton posted over in the action figure section is more...

    Prime 1/Blitzway - Terminator 2 T-800 endoskeleton 1/3

Not according to the James Cameron Online page. https://jamescamerononline.com/endoskeleton.htm

That is a T2:3D endo. Not T2 production. You can tell by the front cover on the skull not having the indent and the chrome finish is different. Most auction houses label T2:3D as T2 to get higher prices.

1:6 Darth Vader 3D Laser Scan & Print Project

Really, really sorry for the lack of updates lately. I need a few new things to try start printing again, but money is scarce these days - the Terminator Endoskeleton project drained it all - so it may take some time before I can acquire the parts. Will prepare the models for printing with the...

    1:6 Scale Terminator Endoskeleton

Thanks. Created a new eye model based on better, more accurate measurements. Uploaded it to my thingiverse page. Tried putting the eyes into the scanned skull and thought it looked cool enough to share.

ALIENS: Wicked 3D diorama (Power-loader vs Queen)

I can't remember which 3D site I found it posted on, but you could buy it as a whole or in parts. If I find it again I'll post it. EDIT: found it: WICKED MARVEL REBECCA NEWTJORDEN SCULPTURE 2023: TESTED AND READY FOR 3D PRINTING

Then it is good that you can buy that one piece separately. :)

New scan I did yesterday. It's the best I'm probably ever going to get with this scanner. I did both a 0.2mm and a 0.1mm scan, but the latter turned into a 2+GB stl file and it won't open in the programs I'm using, because it's so big. When I try to save it as an obj it doubles the size for...

Put a 3D scanner up for sale I bought recently. I no longer have any need for it as I bought an Shining Einstar scanner as well.

1:6 Darth Vader 3D Laser Scan & Print Project

Thanks guys. Have had some new input on possible ways to reduce warping in the first few layers of the prints, so I will try those out once I get to feeling better. Hopefully working on it sometime next week.

1:6 Darth Vader 3D Laser Scan & Print Project

Got sick again. Had planned to try doing more tests to see if the prepared models printed well enough... but that sadly didn't go anywhere... I hope I'll better enough soon, so I can get back to it.

    1:6 Scale Terminator Endoskeleton

Got a few more parts done. I think I'm finished with the big parts. I was not able to scan the neck, as the scanner had a hard time getting in between the pieces, so I'll cut that piece apart and scan the individual neck pieces. Other than that... I may do the fingers... but not sure yet.

    1:6 Scale Terminator Endoskeleton

The amount of scans are now too big in order to load them all at the same time - on my old Mac where I currently have the software I used - and create a render for an image to post here, so I've had to split things up and merge a few images together into one. The parts to the far right is what...
