1:6 Darth Vader 3D Laser Scan & Print Project

Dialed in the settings to 7 seconds bottom burn time (or 8 to be sure), and 2,8 seconds normal layer burn time to get the best result. Printed an ESB Vader chest box as a test at 0.05mm layer height and it turned out really well. I used that layer height to save time for the test, but I can go...

1:6 Darth Vader 3D Laser Scan & Print Project

2.6 seconds normal burn time was too low. So it seems my settings are 7 second bottom layer burn time (or 8 to be sure) and 2.8 seconds normal layer burn time. Testing these settings on an ESB chest box.

Got it off in almost 1 piece. Some corners did snap off. I may keep it at 8 when I do my regular printing, as I don't care about not damaging supports - would rather risk damage to those than the print peeling off the print plate during printing. Will try a bottom layer burn time of 7 for the...

1:6 Darth Vader 3D Laser Scan & Print Project

9 seconds burn time on the first three layers was too much. But I was able to almost get the whole print off without breaking it... though... it broke in several pieces. Though, I was able to determine that the 3 seconds normal layer burn time was over-exposed, so I lowered the burn times to 8...

Btw: wanted to mention that DynamicMenace who will do the RS Prop Masters' Stormtrooper statues usually works in 1:4 and 1:3 scale, but in a video he said he'd consider any scale if there was enough interest, so if people, like me, would love to get 1:6 scale versions, now is the time to make...

First test print was much easier to pry off, but I broke it in the process. I tried with bottom burn time of 10 seconds. Now I lowered it to 9.

Test calibration prints prepared. Hope with the new knowledge this will go better than last time where I demolished the print in order to get it off the print plate... and lost all energy for the rest of the day. Man... I really wish I can dial this in so it will become the glorious experience...

Still looking for new owners. Send me a message and maybe we can figure something out.

1/6 Hot Toys - The Flash - Supergirl Collectible Figure

Why do they put the hair so high up and add that weird straight-up transition section between brow and the where the hair bends? Hair does not look like that. It's so weird and makes it look like she's wearing a wig. Lowering the hair and getting rid of that transition fixes a lot of things...

    Prime 1/Blitzway - Terminator 2 T-800 endoskeleton 1/3

I've been trying to work MovieStillsDB in order to get this picture, but I cannot get it to work. How did you do it to get it?

Kinda thought RS Props scanning their stuff would be as interesting to others as it was for me. Hmm... I am downloading an update to my printer and will hopefully do a test print calibration this week. I know all the things I did wrong the last time, so hopefully I'll do better this time...

    Prime 1/Blitzway - Terminator 2 T-800 endoskeleton 1/3

For some reason, when I posted yesterday, the comparison pictures of the MovieStillsDB and the Prime1 didn't show up. I can definitely tell the Prime1 is squished. Too quarter scale Hot Toys look for me.

    Prime 1/Blitzway - Terminator 2 T-800 endoskeleton 1/3

I think most people have a false idea how an accurate endoskeleton actually looks. Most licensed and fan made makes the shoulders way too wide, giving it an American Footballer look rather than anything anatomically accurate. But sure... the Prime1 one does have that quarter scale Hot Toys...

    Prime 1/Blitzway - Terminator 2 T-800 endoskeleton 1/3

If scale isn't a concern, then the LFS 1:1 scale endoskeleton is the best available. In smaller scale, you have the Cinemaquette - I believe those were 1:2 or 1:3 scale, I may be wrong. Though it has its assembly and pose issues. Supervised by Stan Winston. In 1:6 scale you have the PT...

1:6 Darth Vader 3D Laser Scan & Print Project

Been watching some more 3D printing videos and some explained how I could fix the issue I was having with the prints adhering to the print plate too hard, so I'll try and get things moving so I can dial in the printer and get these prints started. Am still hit with a lot of health issues, so...

    Prime 1/Blitzway - Terminator 2 T-800 endoskeleton 1/3

Yeah, saw the JH final production piece. It's still way too chunky. They did not account for photographic distortion.

    Prime 1/Blitzway - Terminator 2 T-800 endoskeleton 1/3

They used the slim and wonky Sideshow bust for reference for the head. You can tell by the horse teeth and the oversized chip vent on the top of the head. Yeah, just a shame they mirrored the endoskeleton for that picture, making him look like a mirrored image. I tried making an accurate...

Sorry for the lack of updates. Been sick a lot and have been working on other stuff - which you can find here: Thingiverse - Digital Designs for Physical Objects - and still haven't gotten to work with the 3D printer. The Flex plate looks cool, but it is nothing I would be able to install...
