thanks to all... but you answer the question... the dome i found on ebay... miniature display domes... the dome base was digitally sculpted and printed... for the backpack and hoses, i used a scuba set, cut it apart and modified it to suit my needs, and used a bunch of leftover model bits and...

i think that the ball joint is made of soft enough plastic that once it’s heated a little, it’ll insert easily, and be snug. it won’t crack over time! i feel very confident in CREG, he knows what he’s doing!!
