Not exactly. More like, he's openly pretty conservative. And he's said some things off the cuff that have been misconstrued or taken out of context. Not as far off the deep end as Dwight Schultz (Barclay), but right-wing enough to ruffle a lot of feathers.

Well, really, for most Trek figures how much can you give them? What else would they give Shaw, besides maybe a cane? I wonder if maybe the prices for Shaw are related to the estimated preorders. Like, if he's going to naturally sell less, you have to raise the price a bit to compensate. Yeah...

I mean, they literally hired Playboy bunnies and adult film actresses for several of these roles. TOS was a sexy, flirty show. Other series tried to follow suit, but sadly they didn't seem to understand how to do much more than throw a skintight suit on a woman and go from there.

I think costs overall just have to go up a bit. It's still, at least, significantly cheaper than most other 1/6 scale figures.
