Not at all the same scenario. The Ahsoka figures in this example had active content behind them. The first Ahsoka was from Mando, the second from the Ahsoka series...both shows that were airing at the time. And the second Ahsoka has a different costume, which makes it more palatable to people...

I honestly can’t believe people are talking about a second Mace figure when the first isn’t even out yet. Zero chance of this in the next two years.

This was a Sideshow figure back when they were actively still in the 1/6 Star Wars game. Agreed this was a quality figure and hopefully Hot Toys will make Fives at some point.

I kind of doubt they would. This was a paint variant essentially, so they were looking to build some buzz (pun intended). Wolffe would be a new character with a new sculpt and newly molded armor parts. The cost alone wouldn’t justify such a limited run. IF they make him at all, that is.

I was number 280 or thereabouts and managed to get one. According to my order status, it’s shipping out the next business day. 🤷

It's not Hasbro so much as Disney. Disney tells them what to pre-order and when. I would know, as I got laid off from Hasbro in December. They're basically required by contract to support certain titles and participate in specific franchise marketing events. There's no way around it other than...

This exactly. The idea that Disney is somehow altruistic for the sake of some greater "agenda" is beyond naive. They'd pivot their messaging on a dime if it made them loads of cash. They're simply focused on where they believe they can make the most money at present. Maybe they're wrong, maybe...

The initial post I responded to literally was commenting about the lack of white faces in the trailer. Go check. So yes, they were counting. But agreed no discrimination is okay, and here’s hoping the show can stand on its own merits.

Fair enough. But I don’t think we can say that story has taken a back seat here based on a two minute trailer. The primary reactions thus far have been about the casting and showrunner, per my earlier point. If the story is bad, so be it. But counting the number of white faces seems rather silly...

And again, I’ll say…who cares as long as it’s a good show? Unless, of course, you’re saying…representation matters? If your argument is that you can’t enjoy a show without white men, then imagine how everyone else felt for the last 100 years of cinema.
