    RIP Donald Sutherland

Sad news. He was awesome in every role. R.I.P.

    Star Wars: The Acolyte

Looking forward to Pitch Meeting and Honest Trailers. I’m also appreciative of people here sacrificing their time, eyeballs and minds so I don’t have to. Thankyou!

How much fun is it showing the kids some of the older movies? :yess:

    The Fall Guy (2024)

As long as he fights a cyborg Sasquatch, I'm there! :)

    The Fall Guy (2024)

It was ok. Kinda felt like a Netflix movie. Gosling and Blunt made a good couple. Wanted to see more Stephanie Hsu once I recognised her from Everything Everywhere All At Once. Best bit was the replacement actor cameo at the end, oh and the expected cameos were nice too. I'm sure it will fade...

Jim Henson: Idea Man - Disney+

Muppets = Pure, unbridled joy. :) OMG, the Statler/Swedish Chef/ Animal/ Cookie Monster gifs are hypnotic....waiting for them to briefly sync up.

RATE or REVIEW The Last Movie You Watched.

The Thing (1982)......3 guesses at my rating :) My classic 80's rewatch to show my kids awesome movies continues. Nothing really new to add to any discussions on this. I just appreciate the streamlined story, the effective characterisations, the tension, the paranoia, the gooooooo (insert Honest...

    Star Wars: The Acolyte

I’m baffled by the hubris of some of these directors/writers. How about “Hey, I’m really proud of what we put together, I hope it will appeal to fans of any generation” and just get on with it. Realise that it’s impossible to please everyone and accept there will be people that won’t connect...

@Mr.E. Sounds like you need a Sam. I hope you can find a Sam. We all need a Samwise Gamgee in our lives. In the meantime, here's Sam :) Hold strong, man.:ring

Jim Henson: Idea Man - Disney+

Fair enough. :) Their docos on ILM and this are pretty great though. About the only thing worth it for me (I'm actually using a friends account, so....)

Jim Henson: Idea Man - Disney+

Side note, I was lucky to join an online webinar by Toby Froud. It was an hour long presentation and he covered his childhood as the son of Brian and Wendy Froud, his involvement with Labyrinth and his eventual entry into the world of puppets and stop-motion - he worked at Laika on Boxtrolls...

Yeah, some little surprising nuggets in there for me too!

    Sadly, I agree. 🙁

Jim Henson: Idea Man - Disney+

Didn't notice a thread on this. A pretty wonderful look at the life and influence of Jim Henson directed by Ron Howard. I'm sure most people here grew up with his work, so I'd recommend checking it out. Dare you to not get a little choked up when "Rainbow Connection" plays :)

    Questions for Asmus

Thanks Obi! It will be interesting to see what they have in store. Here I was thinking I will just have to be satisfied without a Saruman. There’s hope yet!

    Beetlejuice 2

I feel like Fury Road and Maverick were able to capture what was great about the originals and expand on them. Very rare though.... I have my doubts, but I really hope Keaton is able to pull this off.
