    Neca has universal monsters!!!

Not enthusiastic about that. I just want a B&W Phantom and then I think I'll be done.

    Prime1 Giger Alien (Big Chap)

Thanks, When you consider what official 1/1 pieces go for these days, I figured that £120 was a good shout for a life sized creature. While it wasn't actually used in the film, the kit is taken from a rod puppet that Studio ADI tested. They put a video of it up on YouTube and, apart from the...

The Last of Us Part I (Remake for PS5 & PC)

I know. It's a good game and I do like it, but, it didn't live up to what had built around it. I'm not sure I'll bother with the HBO show. I can take it or leave it right now. I think Sony think it'll help shift PS5 Pros if they have a good game to go with it that makes the most of the...

    Prime1 Giger Alien (Big Chap)

I'd seen reviews of that and I didn't like it. It looked very plastic to me and very flat when it came to paint apps. Add the fragility and the fact that it'd set me back nearly £140 and the appeal very much went. It was NECA or nowt, and I'd lived with the nowt for far too long. I pushed the...

Statue Infinity Studio: Game of Thrones - Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) Life-Size Bust

There's something very uncanny valley about it to me. It ought to look alive, and if this was alive it would be pretty creepy. If you love it and you want it, knock yourself out.

    Prime1 Giger Alien (Big Chap)

Absolutely. I settled for a little NECA one today. It was the version in the Kenner repro box. When I took it out and looked at it, the dome was crooked, so, I peeled it off, and looked at it to see what I could do. Whoever trimmed the vinyl didn't do a good job! There's a nick in the front...

JND Studios 1/6 scale Heath Ledger Joker figure

As impressive as it sounds, you're going to need to be pretty minted to be able to afford one. If they're limited run and the QC is bad, where does that leave you!? Are you going to want a replacement that will have your issue fixed but have a bunch of others!? I'd be super cautious where this...

The Last of Us Part I (Remake for PS5 & PC)

Actually, Part 2 is getting a PS5 remaster so it's likely that we'll also get that version on PC. Hopefully they'll know what they're doing this time.....

    Prime1 Giger Alien (Big Chap)

I think the dome was meant to be reasonably clear on the original, but, it wasn't sealed and would mist up under the lights. That's why it varies from shot to shot. I think completely clear was more how it was intended to be. Figure manufacturers have just used whatever stills were to hand...

I don't understand the attraction to 1/12 scale figures

Yeah, I'm about, though not as much as before. Even 1/12 is getting expensive now. Black Series was fun while there were some decent figures being discounted, but, ever fewer are now. I made an exception for Indy, I mean, when would a better one than the SHF turn up!? I really do want to get an...

I don't understand the attraction to 1/12 scale figures

I hear you, My nearest brick and mortar store gets all the latest NECA and HT in, but, their Black Series are nearly all red line which they've had sat there since it first released. There aren't even any decent ones in there either, really annoying!

    Prime1 Giger Alien (Big Chap)

Great pics! There seems to be a lot more silver grey on these where many more I've seen have had a lot more brown tones. I think the brown tones may be more accurate and the silvering was what they KY jelly they slathered on it looked like under the lights.

    Prime1 Giger Alien (Big Chap)

Nice find! It's clear from that that most follow the Rambaldi look. I bet those kits are nice. Most of what I've seen on here is way too pricey for me. NECA is about what I can run to and I only really came on here to see what paint jobs on more expensive stuff were like and to see what I'd need...

    S.H.Figuarts Indiana Jones

There's a lot of licensing stuff going on. Some Bandai is widely distributed and some isn't. The Star Wars model kits are distributed by Revell, the figures, as far as I know don't have a worldwide distributor. A retailer near me stocked Figuarts, but, they were unable to get Indy as it was a...

    Prime1 Giger Alien (Big Chap)

They looked different to me. I've never been sure though if the Rambaldi head was worn by Bolaji Badejo or if it was on a static rig. I'd seen sketches where they wanted the jaw mechanism to be self contained, but, I thought the curling lips were cable controlled and the tongue pneumatic...

    Prime1 Giger Alien (Big Chap)

The dome in the pics above is accurate to the heads that were in the movie. That said, they did vary, you had the head Badejo wore for general shots, then there were the stunt heads worn by Eddie Powell and there were heads done by Carlo Rambaldi for shots of the jaws. All followed Giger's...

1/6 Doctor Who Figures - BCS and everything else

I see, the one in my local retailer is the Zavvi one then.

1/6 Doctor Who Figures - BCS and everything else

I don't know what body that is in the pic, but, it's not the one that comes on the figure. This and the 10 were quite good, but, nowhere near good enough to justify the £225 my retailer is STILL asking for them. There are 1/6 statues of 10 and 4 already out, it's possible that MR have just...

    MAFEX The Terminator

I would imagine the hands would respond to some gentle persuasion from a hair dryer. For extra insurance, heat the hand, place the weapon in it, clasp the hand and cool it with cold water.
