I believe it was not an increase from $1,100 to $1,400 to $1,700. Rather, the Bumblebee, originally at $1,100 was increased to $1,400 and Optimus Prime went from $1,400 to $1,700.

It is not a huge markup, rather a discount that BBTS is offering. Calibre has the statues listed at $1399 & $1699.
